The 16th annual Fleet Week Coronado Speed Festival – “The Race at the Base” – is celebrating is Sweet 16 this year. Join thousands of race enthusiasts and fans in this premier motorsports event saluting our nation’s military.

8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. or until last race
Parking lot opens at 7:30 a.m.
Gates open at 8 a.m.

Race 3 – 1969-1980 Sports Racing and Formula Cars
Race 4 – 1953-1966 Production cars under 2000cc
Race 5 – 1959-1966 Production Cars - Disc Brake
Mazda MX-5 Cup
Race 6 – 1962-1966 Production Cars over 2500cc
Race 7 – 1965-1988 FIA Manufacturer Championship Cars
Race 8 – Historic NASCAR - 1972 thru -
Race 9 – 1966-1972 Historic Trans-AM

I've been to this a couple times and it's freekin cool! No air show this year but I'm glad we still have this!

My wife and I were in San Diego and "stumbled" into this event. We had a fantastic time. Didn't spend much time watching the races, but did plenty of driving. As a bonus, we had already ordered my wife's 335i M-Sport in Estoril blue, without seeing the color in person. When we showed up at the BMW test drive, a copy of her car was sitting there. She was like a kid in the candy store.

If you have a chance to attend this event, I highly recommend it.
