E46 Bentley Manual has been received. It is a gorgeous hard cover book, and was purchased for approximately $97 shipped from a seller on eBay (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574947307&toolid=10001&campid=5336776893&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fmotors.desc.shop.ebay.com%2Fi.ht ml%3F_nkw%3D3%2Bseries%2Be46%2BBentley%2BService%2 BManual%26_sacat%3D%26_odkw%3D3%2Bseries%2BBentley %2BService%2BManual%26_osacat%3D0%26bkBtn%3D%26LH_ TitleDesc%3D1%26_trksid%3Dp4506.m270.l1313).

I am hereby offering a couple of pages from the manual to whoever needs a particular section but hasn't gotten around to buying one yet. I will not scan entire chapters, only a couple of pages of the information you need, and will only PM the scans to whoever needs it (it will not be posted publicly).

Feel free to contact me if you need certain sections.

Please note: This is not my work. All credit to Bentley Publishers and their sources for the creation of this book. If you like the material, buy it!

Why would shipping be $75.00?

shipping is $75 so that he doesnt have to pay as high of ebay commission, if someone wanted to be a douche about it, report = account warning :3

Yes. This is a classic way to avoid fees. The final price is how the auction fees are assessed. Shipping is not included in that calculation. So, you have this guy selling the Bentley for $1. However, shipping is $75. eBay gets a commission for the $1 sale.

Technically, that's fraud, isn't it? Fraud is a felony.

It's not fraud. Ebay allows you to set both price and shipping.

He found a creative way to reduce the commission ebay takes.

It may violate ebay's terms of service, but it is certainly not illegal.

so cool... any chance you can put up the pages on how to deal with removal of the front. I'm having problems trying to figure it out with what I can find online, none of the others are quite the same.

EDIT 10/5/11: was looking at my old posts and recognized how this post makes no sense (sorry BP). I was asking about the FRONT BUMPER. figured it out soon enough after this...

The removal of what, in the front? Need specifics, please.

az3579 would you have the pages on how to remove the trunk lid liner? There is an XM radio antenna wart that I'm trying to remove from my external trunk lid. I removed all the rivets from the lid liner, but it looks like the tool kit might be in the way since the wires are tucked under nearest the window. Thanks in advance.

Question-How in depth is the Bentley manual? Does it give specific torque values for certain things? For example, when I replaced my Valve Cover Gaskets, I found everything from 7 ft-lbs to about 10 ft-lobs (84 in-lbs to 120 in-lbs). Now, I'm no super mechanic, but the 89 in-lbs (10 NM?) quoted somewhere seemed way too light. Also, will it show what pattern to tighten the VGC? I saw variations in this too. Some said start from the middle, some said X pattern (IIRC).

The more DIY projects I will be undertaking, the more this manual seems to be a necessity for me.

Thanks!!!

Johnny

I bought the Bentley about 3 years ago when I had my 325.

There is a ton of detail and good info, but imo if you have a good diy to follow, it isn't really necessary.

There are enough of us on here that can look up any info that you might need.

Afa the valve cover torque values, the Bentley lists 10nm (89 in-lbs).

Droid X. Tapatalk. Use it.
