Is this the stuff? How long should 4 liters last me?

http://www.amazon.com/ATE-706302-Original-Super-Racing/dp/B002TQ0WM4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376672445&sr=8-1&keywords=ate+super+blue+dot+4

Ok, got two liters of the stuff in the link.

Notice! The picture in the description already says "Not for use on public roads because of the color." I guess they already know, and they sell it anyway.

ECS Tuning and Turner Motorsports no longer has it listed on their website

As long as ATE Type 200 is still available I could care less. Same fluid just not dyed blue.

exactly my thoughts. I still have two old cans of super blue that I'm gonna use anyways until they're gone

Agreed. I personally didn't like the blue anyways cause it seemed to dye the plastic reservoir if left in too long.

Just had 4 cans of it ordered on Amazon, courtesy of William... Apparently it can't be shipped to Florida... Weird, so he ordered it for me and will re-ship to my house. Thanks to awesome Mafia friends! :thumbsup

I'll convert to the Amber whenever needed, but will be nice to know I have this stuff until then.

the point of it being blue is so you can easily tell when bleeding the system, so you should buy the type 200 anyways. this is just going to make it a bit tougher in the future to tell when your system is bled

Hmm. I always thought people servicing brake fluid shouldn't be servicing it IF THEY DON'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BRAKE FLUID AND "OTHER FLUIDS".

I guess I'm the idiot for thinking that and that blue is an accceptable color.

Qft. But regardless of if it's blue, bmw coolant is the only other blue fluid I've ever seen for vehicles in any application. But a said, ate gold is the same fluid undyed.

I usually empty out a full bleeder bottle per corner and still have extra in the 1liter can

I have a ton of it lying around. I only cared about it being blue because I was bleeding the system often during track season.

I like blue, so what? You'd be a little upset if the Roundel was Amber and white, wouldn't you?

:biggrin

I already have SOME blue, now I just don't have to mix.

Stuart, if you want to offload any of the Blue, I'm a fan of it and can pick it up when I come for the b/c.

officially unavailable from tirerack, and several other online suppliers since last night. did some google shopping for it this morning, and quite a few sites just automatically redirect you to typ 200

haven't actually been shopping for it, just browsing to see how fast who takes it down. as of now, amazon is no longer listing it. the link above goes 404, and it's not listed by searching their site. seems like this is legit and the feds got all butt hurt sparky. my boss thinks Ate will bring a suit, and it'll probably be back on the shelves, at least as "racing applications/off-road use only."

I don't get the reason why everyone now is buying blue all of a sudden.

Yes it's blue and yes it's no longer approved for sale for US.

With an equal brother in gold color, I really don't feel like I lost anything.

Anyone want to enlighten me? :)

Because it makes bleeding accurately easier for me.

It's a convenience thing. No more. No less.

I buy it because I think all BMW's should bleed blue. Whether it's coolant or brake fluid. Now I just need to find blue motor oil and PS fluid, and all my fluids should be blue. :)

Best reply ever... :lol I bought it most because I have some blue at home already and I want to make sure I have enough for a full flush when I do brakes on the car. But, William said it apparently hasn't shipped yet, so I might not get it...

Well don't I feel special:

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a107/mbcoops/null_zps5bd8647a.jpg

First $500 takes them since they're so rare and desired. Note the rust on the top of one of the cans. That adds character so make it $550 for the ZHP of brake fluid.

A guy on E46f said the can with the rust isn't special because it has the same part number as the rust-free can.

Just found some @ PegasusAutoRacing.com. Amazon, et.al. didn't ave any available.
(TireRack even tried to sub. amber - watch out #'s 706-302/706-202)

Thanks for the heads-up.

Well I placed these cans in the proper spot to develop that rust so make it $650. Maybe if I get this price the rest of you can sell yours for a killing as well.

If you touch the rust then dab it under your eye, as if it's warrior paint, you become a DIY god, which is worth another $100.

I will let them go for $450 to mafia family members. You know, because we are family.

NLA from BimmerWorld either. Their note:

Note - Ate Super Blue Racing Brake Fluid is no longer available. It has been determined that Ate Super Blue does not comply with the applicable US DOT Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard for brake fluid due purely to the color. The federal standard requires motor vehicle brake fluid to be colorless or amber in color.

I knew there was a reason that I've ordered it three times (besides forgetting that I already had some haha).
