I just got a great deal on some style 68's with tires. Just curious if I'm going to have any make fitment issues switching from my current style 44's. They do have staggered tires. 245/45 in the rear and 225 45 in the front which is same size ad my current setup. My only question is am I going to be able to fit the rears without messing with my coilovers?

You will be fine. No worries. Let me check.

Are the 68's a staggered rim?

Do you have matched rear or front 17's?

STYLE 68

Front = ET41, 7.5" rim

Rear = ET50, 8.5" rim

STYLE 44

Front/Rear matched = ET47, 8" rim

Do these numbers look correct for rear?

Wow.
I went to type in the website for that wheel calculator but forgot the full site so I took a guess. I typed in "www.willitfit.com" and immediately regretted it...

Thanks Dane. So putting the new wheels on tonight I pulled off my driver rear and was shocked to find how badly the inside is wearing. I had this problem before and replaced the rtabs...could there be something else gone bad causing this? Also notice the bulge in the tire just to the left of the bald spot. Looks as If the belts have failed?

That tire is shot. How much camber is on the rear wheels?

Supposed to only be -1 degree...

Guess I'm gonna have to run up to the alignment shop again. I may have got the toe off when I replaced the rtabs.

If the toe is going out it can cause the inside edges to wear. If you couple that with too much neg camber then you can have a serious inside wear issue.

The problem with taking the bimmer to a generic shop is they probably won't have the tool to set the rear toe. I wish I had one but they cost $80. Anybody up for going in on one?

The only place that will do alignments on BMWs besides the stealership is where I've always taken it. Highly recommended but they are old school. Not sure if they have the tool you're referring to but the only thing they've stated having a problem lining it up have been lack of camber plates. Still were able to get it to about -1 if I recall correctly.

My thoughts are that something got out of alignment when I replaced the rtabs. I marked everything but my thought is when they lined it up the first time my rtabs were shot so would flex giving the impression it was aligned. When I went with the urethane replacements I marked where the carrier housing was sitting but where the urethane was brand new with no flex. What was in line before is no longer in line after the replacement. I need to get up there and see what they say. Just haven't had time yet.
