Does it exist? I've never seen one. I've seen a couple 330/325's with it. It seems they only offered it in 2004 & 2005. That would be one rare (and cool) combo!

AFAIK, it never existed.

By unicorn I assume it doesn't exist? :rofl It does seem they made them in 2004 but not 2005. I feel like someone somewhere must have one!

You never know. Someone may have put one on. But, as far as I know, if was impossible to order from the factory.

they go for $480 the kit and with the whole steering wheel "M" $980

its a retro fit, you need the SMG 2 steering wheel...

I am looking at my 2005 E46 brochure. At the SMG option it says "not available in 330i with Performance Package and 325i/325xi/330xi"

He meant from factory I think.

As the post above me states, it was never offered in the ZHP.

But for reference, I've driven a 330 with SMG, and it feels worse than in the M3 somehow.

I think you misunderstood me, I'm not looking for a retro-fit for a Steptronic but the SMG (SSG) for the Non-M cars on a ZHP.

:cheers Thank you that is what I was looking for. I can understand why the Xi's weren't offered it, but it's odd they didn't offer it for the ZHP's.

Also, they did offer it for the 325 in 2004: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=801761.

That's probably because the Non-M SMG is different than the M SMG. The Non-M is actually SSG which is a less complex and less beefy system as used in the M's. Shifting is slower and isn't as precise. Still, it will shift quicker than any human being can.

I sorta want to prove you wrong with a video.

Does your 05 brochure have much info and pics for the ZHP? I picked up an 04 coupe edition a couple months ago and it doesn't have anything on the ZHP. Might have to buy an 05 brochure now. When I look at 05 brochures on Ebay they show the same cover photo as my 04 version.

Looks just like this one....

I'd like to do the same. I've seen the video of an SMG shift and it's actually pretty slow when you take into account the fact that it's not a human controlling how quickly the shifts are.
I know someone who can powershift the hell out of any car...

(and subsequently ruining the synchros, but I digress :biggrin)

Ok, how about without beating the car? :rofl I can't find the thread but I think SSG shifts in 1/10 of a second and SMG is about .6/10's of a second.

Yep it has a whole section on the Performance Package (ZHP)! In the section is an Imola ZHP with Alcantara interior, much like mine :) It's a 4-5 page section on the ZHP if I remember right. I usually put it on my dash at shows and stuff. It is different from the one in your link though...

I like the idea of a brochure from your car year. I have an '06 vert. Given that you seem to know the brochures, it sounds like they have ZHP info, do they have vert info too?

I am pretty sure the Cabrio has its own manual, mine doesn't have anything on it.

It's odd though, because I also have E46 M3 as well as E63/E64 M6 brochures and the Coupe and Cabriolet are in the same manuals. The Series models may be separated :dunno

I seriously doubt it... think of all the times you have to pull that darned "-" paddle. With an H-box, you can just go from six to two directly and rev-match. Done. :)

Hey guys, I was reading through this thread after finding these up for sale. Do you think they are actually SMG ZHPs(ZAMs)?

It seems suspect if there are 3 up at once and considering the prices not for very much either (the one that claims "very rare" I might actually believe but still!).

those are all M Sports. even though they are being advertised as a 'ZHP.' they got the S338 M Sport package, but no S767 M Performance package.

The middle link has silver exterior trim as opposed to the black trim of our cars which is indicative it's not a ZHP as well.
