Will these fit face lift cars?

TRS states, "TRS has a surplus of Halo kits designed for use in the original BMW E46 headlight"...

I've always thought there was a difference between facelift/pre-facelift angel eyes, but when you go to Khoalty to order a set, there is no distinguishing between pre-facelift/facelift. Hopefully that's the case for these.

Interesting... $25 sure is a great deal! I thought all Halos were LEDS? The only thing that has stopped me from getting Halos is I have to bake my headlights to get them apart.

Correct. The angel eyes designed for coupes are a lot smaller since the projector shrouds and halogen reflector bowls are smaller in diameter.

No way to make them fit a coupe? Maybe bend them a little?

I almost purchased a set of Weisslicht angel eyes but I felt their DIY was fairly extensive (but this will probably differ from your installation?). Feeling lazy didn't help either.

Well FWIW Weisslicht's only come with ballasts when you are installing CCFL's. Since yours are LED, I wouldn't worry about it... hopefully someone can back me up.

It looks like you may need a set of ballasts and a relayed wiring harness that has +12V, GND, and Trigger wire(s).

I called them earlier today they stated the 9600 relay would do the trick. I would say call and reconfirm.

Their ad says:

Each kit includes 4 LED rings, input wiring/drivers and some mounting hardware/double sided tape.
The wiring just needs a 12V +/- input to power the rings, so the connections should be simple.

LEDs by nature do not need ballasts. Ballasts are for CCFLs. LEDs only require a current limiting resistor but those could be built into relays. The LEDS would likely require relays (is that what they are referring to as drivers?) to handle the current draw.

MiniD, what came in those small packets? Also, can you please measure the diameter of the rings? Are they flexible or rigid?

The angel eyes are pretty good and are worth the money, IMHO.

Some points:

-You do not need a ballast. You can wire them directly to your accessory wire in DME compartment.
-Fitment is pretty good, but the clips on these things suck. You are going to have to work with them a little.
-Most important: the xenon rings are slightly more yellow than the flash to pass ring. They are slightly different. If this bothers you, buy another kit.

Overall, pretty nice and straightforward job.

The xenon rings are slightly yellower than the flash-to-pass? I've never seen that kind of difference on any angel eyes. All the ones I've seen are uniform in color for all four halos. Maybe they mixed something up on the order? Well, congrats on the install. Now for the obligatory pic please!

I'm in for some pics! So what did you have to add to the kit to make it function correctly? Was it a relay kit or were the wires provided long enough to wire them up?

All you need is a spool of wire, around ten feet, to wire it to accessory and make grounds. That's it.

Day time pics wash out and just turn into blurs... Maybe when I get home I'll nab a pic with my dslr.

There was no documentation.

I deemed it unnecessary to have a relay control power from the + and - terminals because the current draw is really low for LED lights. You can buy a relay if it makes you more comfortable. Khoalty sells one for $12 which includes all the wiring you would need.

If it was CCFL, do it with a relay and run it off the battery.

I'll leave it for now, but I'll get a nice kit later on in life.

This would be a fantastical kit for someone trying to do a custom color, just paint the Rings with clear paint.

Try them out and see before you install. But they did tell me, "We unfortunately do not quality check these Bargain Basement parts, but fortunately they were also discounted because of that."

Yeah I will. Thats true its hard to complain for a full set of LED halos at $25 hopefully it's not all of them

Installed mine tonight and had the same problem you did, but honestly once my headlights are on you can't even tell the difference, I also have halogens so idk if the xenons make a difference. But for $25 can't complain at all very happy with it one day ill just swap out the led strip to match the other rings or maybe make it devil eyes
