Motorsports and entertainment complex planned for Spotsylvania County, VA. Only about 20 min from me and in Enemy's neck of the woods).

The project's plans include a 4/10-mile oval racetrack, a 1/8-mile drag strip, a 2-mile road course and a go-kart course.

^Sounds like you'll be hosting a Mafia meet in a couple of years.

Very cool, just over an hour away from me. I wonder if they will have track days for us regular type people?

I will definitely be taking a trip up there. That's one thing we're missing in Charlotte, a decent road course. It would look real nice next to the speedway, 4 lane dragstrip, and dirt track!

Maybe having that will help the Blue Ridge CCA do more than dinners and a go cart event. It will be great to have two tracks in easy driving distance.

Not to threadjack, but QC_ZHP have you been up to VIR in Alton/Danville, VA? http://virnow.com/

That said, always good to have more tracks in the area!

Awesome. The more tracks we have local, the more fun we can have. It will be nice to have such a variety within a couple hours of each other.

Sadly, I have never been but my car has. (Picture from PO).
I guess the oak is no more. Counting on the smart kids at VA Tech to create a clone.

Yes, Oak tree is no more, but VIR is definitely worth the time and expense IMHO. ZHPs enjoy it too!

I haven't, its a few hours away and I just haven't made the trip yet. I actually passed by on the way home from picking up my ZHP, but thats the last time I've been up that way.

Mafia doen't take the track over but the Tarheel CCA does three HPDEs there a year. There is one coming up on the 22nd\23rd weekend. I think the other two are in (I want to say) April and I cant remember the other one. It's relatively cheap -$400 for the registration. Hotels are about $100\night.

Registration isn't restricted to Tarheel memebers, but the get first dibs. This upcoming weekend has just over 200 registrants for the full course. The Tarheel CCA site has all the info.
