Hello,
I have a set of headers I am wanting to install on my 04 330i zhp. My question is for anyone who has them installed, is it ok to use them on our stock exhaust or should I get an exhaust set up from say Magnaflow or some other company? Any advice would be very welcomed. All my maintenance is current and I would like to start modding a little.

Other than concerns about no longer having catalytic converters and the associate CEL (and smell), headers on the stock exhaust is generally agreed to be a great setup!

There is at least one other thread going about headers right now. Take a look. And Welcome--appears to be your first post Leeshope.

Can I not install aftermarket cats? Yes.

As they said, welcome Lee! Please introduce yourself in our new members thread. As an FYI, after you've seen my post, I'll move this thread to the performance section. Headers is a whole 'nother level over a performance exhaust. You'll definitely add more power w/headers and depending on what state your in, deal with Cats, CELs, O2 sensors, etc. Much easier in other states than CA. Finally, for a minor improvement and better sound, a full catback exhaust system is good, but it's not going to be a dramatic performance improvement. Hope that's a good place to start the thought process for you.
