Interesting concept. Wonder how much they'll cost? (And how true the marketing is).

'cmon how can it not... they have pencil drawn animation just like those doctors they are selling you books on how to cure cancer.

Emerging groves as they call it = reduction is contact patch ares = reduction in rolling resistance. So the reduced degradation in rain comes at the cost of increased degradation in dry. Personally I have a very effective remedy for rain driving... I slow down.

The technology is actually making its way to winter tires as well. Most tires wear through the gripping compound in snow tires at after 6/32nds you're left with completely useless tire.

The new Ice-Xi3s actually have some sort of crap in it that will help maintain that grip until wear bars. Of course you don't want to run a winter tire own to 2/32nds, but it is possible and maintain like-new grip.

Pretty cool stuff.

Interesting idea. I would think that they would have to use some very stiff rubber compound to make the tire handle reasonably well, as one would think that these tires would get a lot of side-to-side flexing with the "A" style vs. traditional "V" style tread designs. This would be even more evident when making any type of turns, or running in any other direction then straight. Maybe they are using Kevlar or Carbon Fiber to add stiffness?

Huh, interesting. I was recently wondering why there hadn't really been any major tire advancements since like, what, the radial? :dunno

I looked up the Xi3s but couldn't find anything matching that description of that tire. I looked on Tire Rack.
Is this supposed to be the EverGrip technology, or something else?
