View Full Version : Site problems today?

I tried finding a relevant forum, but this was the closest I could find.

I post 95% of the time from the tapatalk app while I'm at work. I was having a lot of issues.

Initially it was saying "duplicate create/reply thread error." Sometimes my post would go through; sometimes it wouldn't.

I went to go make a thread about the issue, using tapatalk. I had it all typed out and then I got "The operation couldn't be completed tapatalk error 2203."

Another odd issue is that I'm not seeing any new posts in tapatalk. It shows the most recent post as from about 8 hours ago.

Anybody know what's up? Did something on the site change recently (hence why I picked this forum to put this thread in)?

There were some problems today that should be fixed now.

I was having the same problems this morning. I narrowed it down to the Timeline and Unread not working on Tapatalk and the New Posts not working on the desktop. It seems to be at least partially fixed now.

Evening ladies and gents.

The site suffered from a database table error today.

It was resolved by the server company.

We should be good.

Was it a week or so ago? When the entire site was down and I was shown the error page that pops up that looks similar to the one you get when there's no internet.
Then today I couldn't post and when I tried again, it said I had already and that it was a duplicate. Glad to see that this has been fixed already though.

Anytime, gents. Again, we strive to make it a smooth experience here so days like yesterday are frustrating for us, especially when we're all off working our "real" jobs and can't attack things as quickly as we'd like.

Tapatalk just updated their plugin *again* so make sure your app is up to date and that your cache is cleared. It seems that every time they upgrade their plugin it causes problems. They drive me nuts.

12 days prior to be exact. The new server that we moved to is faster and should offer a better experience but it seems that we're seeing a few of the break in problems as one of the early adopters to their brand new SSD server. We expressed our concerns to the server provider.

The latest:

Dane,

Upon further review, there appears to be an issue with the temporary file for the previously crashed table on your server.

"
zhpmafia_zhpforum.filedata
error : Can't create new tempfile: './zhpmafia_zhpforum/filedata.TMD'
status : Operation failed
"

I am attempting a different type of repair on this particular table at the moment, and I will update this ticket once that process has completed. In the interim, please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Thank you,

And now.....the rest of the story.

2015-01-15 17:01:26 EST

To ServInt SolidFire VPS customers,

Last night, January 15th, an unexpected service interruption occurred on our SolidFire platform during a scheduled maintenance that we reported would not be service affecting. For this interruption, we are extremely apologetic. We cannot say enough about how disappointed we are that anyone was affected by what was supposed to be a routine, live maintenance. We strive for all of our customers to see 100% uptime. When they do not, we investigate why and improve to make sure similar outages cannot occur in the future.

The scheduled maintenance was for the purpose of upgrading our Reston, VA SolidFire cluster to the next major system release. The maintenance was a routine update operation, being performed by SolidFire’s own staff. It was not supposed to have any impact on service. However, during the pre-upgrade process, one of the nodes in the cluster failed to reset properly. During the recovery from this failure, a second node in the cluster exited the cluster unexpectedly

This is the point where visible problems began for some of our customers, as those who were utilizing the exited node would not failover to new nodes and could no longer access the storage cluster. Because of the distribution of affected customers, we were ultimately forced to cold boot all SolidFire powered host nodes. Once we did this, all but two virtual environments (VEs) were brought back online. The two which failed were restored from backup.

In the end, the SolidFire cluster lost no data, but the unclean reboot of VEs caused several to experience data corruption when they ran filesystem checks. Customers experienced differing periods of downtime as a result of this event.

We will be working with SolidFire to determine exactly what happened and how to prevent it in the future. Once we do this, we will also determine what hardware, if any, needs to be replaced. We unequivocally do not want a repeat of this situation or anything like it.

As with any unexpected downtime, this disruption of service is covered by our Service Level Agreement. Customers who were impacted should file a support ticket requesting credit for the downtime they suffered.

Once again, we apologize profusely for the unplanned event. We are confident that we will solve the issue that resulted in the flawed maintenance and it will not be repeated.

CTO, ServInt

Yeah that will never work.

This is the base URL:
http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php

a "?" then tells the server that variables are coming. Each one will have the format variablename=value and multiple variables will be separated by an "&" symbol.

These are fine here:

&goto=newpost&highlight=johnmadd+journey

they break down to

goto=newpost

and

highlight=johnmadd journey

But this first part:

8740-Johnmadd-s-e30-Journey=

is somehow getting scrambled.

The response I received regarding this issue:

Hi,

This looks to be a vbulletin specific error which, according to the following forum post, will be resolved in version 4.2.3:

http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forum/vbulletin-4/vbulletin-4-questions-problems-and-troubleshooting/4000233-warning-declaration-of-vbforum_item_socialgroupmessage/page4

The suggestion to stop this from happening on the site at the moment is to add the following line to the /home/zhpmafia/public_html/forums/includes/config.php file:

define('SKIP_ALL_ERRORS', true);

I have added this line and the errors are no longer displaying.

It's because you guys are using the free version of TT? It had ads I believe.

To my knowledge, the new site changes and upgrades did not affect advertisement.

I have free and paid versions. Guess the one is the free version where I see that.

Any ideas why I am getting a 403 error when I am trying to access the site on my laptop, yet it's working just fine on my phone?

This just started happening to me this morning at 6:30am est. Yes, I start my day by reading zhpmafia :)

EDIT: Ok, when I connect my laptop via my phone's hotspot internet connection, the site works again. Is it possible that my IP address somehow got blacklisted by this site?

Starting yesterday, I get this message at work at ZHPmafia.com :

"Forbidden. You don't have permission to access / on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request"

Any recent changes on our ZHPmafia site ?

Your work is blocking the site. You probably used it too much and they restrict. I imagine if you walk off site you'd immediately be able to visit. That or they have some protocol that isn't allowed. My work has the same thing.

No problems that I've seen so maybe is it a work thing.

I had the same issue a little while ago. See my post right before yours (link (http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?12231-Site-problems-today&p=436204#post436204)). For whatever reason zhpmafia.com was blocking my public IP address. I forced my modem to acquire a different IP (had to spoof a different MAC id and reboot the modem) and the problems went away.

Yeah. I still believe something changed on ZHPmafia.com ... I get a different message when going to a forbidden site. For example, CL gets me this at work:

"This page cannot be displayed. Based on your organization's access policies, access to this website has been blocked because the web category 'auctions' is not allowed."

Were you trying to access the site via your work ip address today?
