I have been skulking around here for the last two years, trying to gather as much knowledge and giving insight where I can. This is my first BMW out of 13 vehicles I have owned over the last 13 years. I have always been very involved with each one; from Off-Roading to Open Sunday’s at VIR, I have a very broad knowledge base and try to do all of my own work. I said I was not going to start a project thread until I finished all of my maintenance; there is now light at the end of the tunnel.

I am the third owner of this BMW 330Ci Coupe (US) purchasing it in April of 2012. This car was purchased in Hannau, Germany on July 26, 2004 with a production date of 05/04. The first two previous owners were both Apache pilots in the army with my brother-in-law, and I was actually in Frankfurt for the delivery of my current car, along with my sisters e46 328CiC. I have mixed records for oil changes, but any repair or large maintenance item receipt was retained. There were a few minor issues that were taken care of during the cars first 60,000 miles but on April 17, 2012, I picked up my first BMW that changed my outlook on motoring.

Curious - why did you remove the BSW iPod integration kit?

What was causing the CEL?

Looks great man! Quick question though; was this ordered with the ambers? I've never seen ambers on a ZHP coupe, just on facelift non ZHP's.

What was causing the CEL?

Still have intermittent CEL for Thermal Map Cooling (new t-stat needed - I think the old t-stat heating element is not pushing the lifter pin) The lean codes I was getting and still occasionally see are accredited to numerous parts that need monitoring for proper air/fuel.
Air - Intake Boots, F connector, DISA, ICV
Oil - OFHG, CCV, VCG,VANOS
Spark - Plugs
Fuel Delivery - Fuel Pump and Filter

I will report in when I finish.

I installed it and mounted it to the rack in the drivers side rear. The plastic housing was not secure enough and after a few miles of travel, the housing popped and left the board exposed, grounding on the rack. Think it may have been the root cause for the OEM Nav LCD going out. Removed and Returned to BSW.

Just looked up the unit. Looks like a re-branded DICE Mediabridge Duo - had that in my car and it was total crap. DICE customer service was even worse. Goon on you for returning that junk!

It was a euro delivery, us spec for military sales. That is the only thing I can come up with because all other coupes I see have clears and yes I agree, bad ass. I love the look w the side signals and even like the bumper reflectors. Anyone else have an idea?

Agree pretty rare. And I like the euro-delivery theory. I happened to see one today when I dropped my daughter off at school. 325Ci
