Are the lens replacements offered on Khoalty compatible with the ZKW bi-xenon headlights? I've had mine polished and look ok but I'm doing an AE kit and new 6k bulbs so I figure throwing some fresh lenses would top off the transformation. Thanks for any help!

I didn't feel like starting a whole new tgread for this, so I'll add it here. When purchasing the Khoalty lens replacements, I don't need to buy the seals do I?

To my knowledge, you don't need to if yours are in decent shape. I will need to order the seals when I replace my lenses since they are getting condensation in them!

You don't need to buy the seals. You can reuse the old ones. However, I decided to buy seals as well because the ones I have are already 10 years old. This will prevent condensation inside the headlights.

Now, I've heard bad things about Khoalty but is it safe to buy the lenses/seals from them? They have the cheapest prices on lenses from what I've seen and I need new lenses badly!

I might just get them with it. I have no condensation or anything, but might to get it to be safe. And Ive heard that Khoalty has delivered great products. Yeah the lenses are a lot cheaper, but Ive heard nothing but great reviews on them

You may find the seals a little cheaper with other vendors. Just make sure you get the OEM ones.

The seals are cheap enough to just go ahead and do them! I may order them tonight/tomorrow. My drivers side is a lot worse than my passenger side and it really bothers me!

I bought the lenses from khoalty. Good fit and finish. Install was simple. However after the first car wash, condensation appeared inside. So I bought new seals.

I say buy the seals because they are rubber and rubber gets worse with age.

Alright, Ill get the seals with it. Still debating on just doing the projector retrofit while Im taking the headlight apart. What do ya'll think?

fredo

I say do the lenses first. The retrofit can wait IMHO.

The headlights are easy enough to take apart, so you don't have to do it all at the same time!

I will. I feel like once I change the lenses, it will look ten times better . But I will do AE eventually

I received my Khoalty headlight lenses and seals yesterday (Tue). My order was placed on Thu last week, so I'm happy with the delivery time. Also, they were carefully packaged.

Muuuuch better :o

I didn't even have to remove the headlight unit to get the second one done! This was so simple I wish I'd done it months ago. Looking good at 190k miles.

I think later this summer a headlight project will need to take place including new lenses, angel eyes, and laminex.

Yesterday evening, we had a big storm here. I was at my parents' house, so the ZHP got plenty of rain. When I came back home, I noticed condensation in both headlights. I was a little disappointed, since the seals were replaced two weeks ago with the lenses.

But this morning the condensation is gone ! Can't explain why so fast. But, I'm a happy camper again.

I would make sure the seals are fully seated and the clips are fully secure that hold the lenses to the headlight housing.

On my lenses the casting wasn't smooth on a few sides keeping the lenses from seating properly. I have to use a dremel and clean them up and they fit perfectly afterward.

Looks great! I did mine last year. I have to be honest, A lot of people don't like Khoalty but I've never had problems with them. The one time I got a DOA headlight bulb from them, they replaced it.

I finally replaced my lenses with the Khoalty's the other day. I don't remember anyone mentioned what a pain it is dealing with the headlight washers. I couldn't find any way to avoid removing them. What I ended up doing was to get the entire headlight assembly ready to remove, remove the washer door, remove the washer nozzle, very quickly remove the headlight then replace the nozzle to minimize spillage.

Am I missing anything obvious here?

Also the seals I got from Khoalty were about 1.5" too long. There is no way they would fit, I directly compared the new one to my old one and they are definitely longer. I need to contact Khoalty about that. Luckily my original seals looked great so I reused them.

Here is a before and after. Huge improvement to night driving. Ignore the appearance of my front end. Detailing was the first hobby to get cut after we had a baby last year.

Wow, your old/original lenses were awful - how many vehicle miles on those?

The headlight washers are indeed annoying - I was able to pull the lower trim piece/washer assembly out an inch or so, just enough to wiggle the old lenses out and install the new ones.

Looks great - good work!

X2, that's exactly how I did mine also. It helps to apply some painters tape on the bumper to keep from scratching it.

I reused the lenses gaskets with No issues with leaks. [emoji106]

88k miles. The car was garaged for the first ~60k miles of its life. Same as my old VW, once they start to go they go quick.
