Nelson Ledges Road Course activities suspended indefinitely

Yes, it was old and needs work but, the track was a blast and very nostalgic old school made it even more cool.

Yeh, it's a family business and they seamed to do the minimum to keep it in operation. They tried to sell it a few yeas ago but, that fell through due to the expense of disposing of all the tire walls that the EPA required.

A couple of things about that lack of maintenance made the track more fun though. The last lap I made on that track a few years ago, I realized I didn't have to lift for the kink. Now redline in third is before the kink so, at the kink your in 3 digit numbers. Then if you look at the track map and see the road to the infield at the end of the back straight you can't tell there is a serious dip transition there however; that lands up being a great reminder to to make the immediate transition from full open to full brake and head for the telephone pole in the middle of the chicane leaving you with a perfect setup to get around the hairpin.

Rumor has it is that they are resurfacing. SCCA events have not been officially canceled yet
