This guys is available at a local BMW dealer.

Problem is the price. Cargurus suggests it is 4k over priced, NADA suggests almost 6k overpriced, even KBB suggests its 5-6k over priced. All of these numbers are huge asks for a dealer -- especially BMW.

Any suggestions on how to approach a situation like this?

Way over priced. I would show them historical evidence of what these cars go for. Most likely they got it in on trade, and paid the guy too much. Now they're passing the loss on to the next sucker.

The friendliest forum on the planet.

Beautiful car. A good deal at maybe $14k given white vert, rare wheels, and manual. Extremely overpriced indeed.

You should be able to find a low mileage ZHP vert for less than that.

My 06 Vert had 53k on it when I bought December last, and it was priced the same as that 04. Nice 330 for sure but not 19k nice. If you really are interested in purchasing it, I would go in with your hard offer etc, and keep an eye on it and watch the price fall.

Thanks for the input everyone.

I spoke with them this morning. They gave the me the standard talk. We base price on condition, mileage, we search 20,000 listings before pricing our cars, blah blah blah.

It's a dealer, BMW no less. They are terrible to deal with and there is no way they will move enough to make this worthwhile. It's too bad, but, it happens.

best you can do is make an offer and then keep looking. the worst they can say is no!

how many miles? even if it's low-mileage, it's still 10 years old and will need some refreshing. even with all maintenance up to date and low miles, this car shouldn't fetch more than $11K. in my opinion.
