As the other thread was on 'for sale' forum, I thought i'd better start this here.

So as some of you know, I wanted to line the inner walls of the Euro first aid box with felt, in order to minimize rattles during driving.

I ordered sticky-backed self-adhesive felt sheets from amazon. ($9.00 for 18 sheets of multiple colors)
They were a bit less wide than the width of the box, but I was able to fill in the gaps without much problem. it's not completely flawless, but this will probably be the last time I look at the inner walls of it, as they pretty much become invisible after installing, and during usage.

It was a bit of a messy awkward job, but looks good after finished; needs patience and sharp knives.

DISCLAIMER:
The felt is much smoother/denser and darker and more evenly colored than in pics; I used the flash on purpose to show detail; so it looks worse and "fluffier". the very last pic is perhaps truest to real life look.

The bottom of the box is NOT flat - it has raised lines/ridges (WHY?) and as you can see the felt followed the 'ridges' pretty ok.

I used brown felt on purpose to show the work and how i lined the inside.
--the inner bottom and parts of inner back wall, and the inner wall of the front lid (things can bang against that wall too) are brown;
--the inner side walls and inner top walls are black. (as are any small areas left uncovered by the brown felt)

I MIGHT double layer the bottom to give it a more even look with black, if needed, but I will test it with a single layer first.

Here are some before and after pics (see disclaimer above :) )

Not bad... I think I'll try my hand at something similar when I get home.

Now I have to install the thing...
hope it won't be too hard. (I got the OEM screws ... ). Must try tomorrow..

Installation is easy! Took me 10 minutes, and I had the OEM goods too.

Also, please post a review and let us know if one layer of the adhesive felt is enough to stop all rattles...

Nice finish indeed. The only thing I have on the first aid box is that the door doesn't actually have a swivel mechanism. It just bends the plastic tabs, which will eventually break. Cheapo design but I do understand that it's not meant to be used as a glove box.

Installed ! Pooof! what a PITA that was, trying to line up holes under the seat and trying to screw them lying down at a weird position.
Anyway, got it done after much huffing and puffing and swearing:
Some iphone pics: (I blacked out the green cross but didn't do a good job; will be remedied)
Will also update on rattle amount or lack thereof after some driving.

I hope those items don't knock/rattle around

Mine isn't lined and has been installed (under the passenger seat) for several years. I can't recall any rattling though I can't recall what all is in there either, lol.

I've always wanted a second one under the drivers seat but haven't been able to justify it, I don't think the passenger side is full, neither is the glovebox.

I have two. One has the first aid kit and I think the other is empty.

Yeah, even if it sits empty, my OCD would prefer one under each seat. lol

I agree Marcus

OP - why did you black out the green cross?

I agree Marcus

OP - why did you black out the green cross?

His OCD kicked in and he wanted it all black?

I kinda like the bit of contrast.

UPDATE: not a single rattle from FA box, even on hard cornering. Very nice. (IDK if it's all due to the felt lining I did. I never drove without lining)
And yes: I blacked out the green cross because I like it all black. And the cross had faded on some parts, and wasn't fully there anyway.
However I need to re-do the blacking out.
