Wondering what brands you carry. I'm just about to pull the trigger on some Akebono Euros from TireRack.
I've tried to do my research, here's what I am looking for:
Performance
Longevity
As little dust as possible...ZHP wheels, nuff said!

I narrowed it down to:
Ake euros (winner unless talked out of it)
EBC reds
Hawk ceramics
Rotex gold

Any words of wisdom?

Ray, can you speak to the different types? Ceramic, organic, etc?

Also, detail in here your recommendations for street/track use.

Thanks

I carry:
Posit quiet pads in CERAMIC and SEMI-METALLIC
Stoptech
Hawk (ceramic, hps)

Ceramic pads:
-Less Brake Dust
-Great stopping power, but doesn't initially bite as well as metallic or other "performance pads"
- Long Lasting pads

Semi-Metallic pads:
- Great initial bite
- Lots of brake dust (nobody has time for that)

Stoptech pads
- great stopping power
- more dust than ceramic, but less that oem
(I prefer this set up over hawk or ceramic pads)

Hawk pads
- Greast stopping power
- Less Brake dust than Stoptech
- Tend to squeal

I've tried all my brake pads and I prefer stoptech. Hawks are great, but they squeaked too much for my taste.

This may it may not be asked for, but I found EBC Redstuff to be a perfect daily driving pad set. They are extremely low dusting, very very long wearing, are cheaper than most other pads in my application (135i calipers), and actually stand up to some serious back road action. I have an easy time modulating them and they actually have good feel regarding bite.

I'm a fan of the stoptech street pads :)

BP,

you need to step up to some beast track pads :)

My track pads are Hawk HP+. Once these wear out, I'm going with EBC Yellowstuff. Those pads are the sheeeeeeet for track usage that are streetable.

I'll be hittin' Ray up soon for some rear rotors. :thumbsup

I can get them woot woot. The only problem is my supplier doesn't keep them in stock so will take about a week to ship vs within 2 business days.

Sweet! Too bad I didn't know. I just got my sister red stuff from ECS.

My recent experience with the Hawk performance ceramics is not really encouraging, unless low dust is your driving factor. Cold - cool temperature performance is TERRIBLE. Surprisingly much worse than the Akebono ceramics on my wife's Volvo.

If I did it over again I would get the Stoptech pads or PBR Ultimates and deal with a little dust.
