hello guys knew to the BMW sceneand have a question about my zhp. I want to put lowering springs on my zhp to get rid of the wheel gap, but I've heard that only h&r race and eibach pro lines are the only spring that will lower a zhp is this true?

no it's not. but what you have to keep in mind is that most lowering springs manufacturer measures the drop height using the non-sport height. so you would have to subtract the zhp to get the final drop height. some springs might drop the non-sport to the zhp height, while others will do more. tein s-techs have the most drop i believe.

You're going to get a million different answers to your question. Your best bet is to search for images and people's reviews on different springs. A basic set of H&R Sport springs will lower your ZHP and get rid of the wheel gap. Looking to slam the car and tuck tire? Then you better go with H&R Race or probably even coilovers. I've run Eibach on previous cars, and H&R Sport on my ZHP, happy with both.

If you've got the budget, go with coilovers... Good luck.

If you want to get rid of the gap in the front, go with the H&R 29484 springs. Installed on the wife's ZHP 2 weeks ago. Lowered the front to even with the rear. Front and rear now sit at 25" from ground to top lip of the fender well.

I still don't understand why people don't just buy E90 upper mounts, way cheaper than lowering springs...

Edit: My buddy's car on lowering springs and E90 upper mounts

Because without changing the spring rate, you are removing strut travel by 15mm and increasing the wear on the struts and the potential for bottoming out more often.

Only use those in conjunction with increased spring rate.

Well I come from the honda/vw scene so I am used to seeing no wheel gap at all, so having any wheel gap looks very awkward IMO

Are the top mounts like an extended top hat? As in it will raise the strut higher in the engine bay.

E90 top hats only lower an E46 by 15mm, so yes unless you are using them in conjunction with lowering springs then it's kind of a waste, IMO.

Love my HR Race. Not the most functional drop, but I can still hit canyons.

Yeah Im sorry man. The splitters are 2 piece. Real carbon. Handmade by CTD on E46F. John has the same. Actually had to wrap mine in CF because they cracked in a fucking ramp incident.
