Is it possible to code the TPMS system off?

The friendliest forum on the planet!

I'm interested on the answer. In my case, the "flat tire" warning has been on since I changed wheel size from 16 to 17. Mine is a 2005 Mini Cooper, not sure if that makes a difference.

I was going to answer earlier but don't have a definitive answer. I'm not sure if all Minis had TPMS. I know that if a car has had TPMS throughout its life cycle, such as the F30, for example, then it probably wouldn't be possible. Not sure whether the Mini had it since the beginning of its inception for your chassis code.

If there is an option code for it in the car's vehicle order, then perhaps it can be removed, which would essentially disable all options related to TPMS. I couldn't tell you without being able to read the same year Mini's Vehicle Order.

Ugh. OK. Thanks fella's. Looks like I'll search outside the Family and post here if I find something.

I think the second gen coopers and cooper S's (R56) had TPMS as standard.

I just spoke with a friend in FL who is a member of a Mini club down there. Said he doesn't think it is possible with NCS expert. He is going to look over the weekend on his 09 mini.

He should read his Vehicle Order with NCS and find the $ option code for TPMS. Then, try to code it out and see what happens...

I think that is the plan. I'll report back.

Does it have a fuse? :dunno

This sounds sketchy as shit, but on the prius apparently you can just short it out with a paper clip...
