View Full Version : Pad preference with BMW Performance Rotors?

I just picked up a set of 4 BMW perf rotors of CCA forums for a good deal (most impressive rotors i've ever seen). With all my old cars i've gone to hawk HPS pads, however just thinking about my 135s and all the dust the HPS make has me dreading washing the car.

Does BMW make a "performance brake pad" to work in conjunction with the rotors? how about any other suggestions of non-ceramic pads with low dust?

I should mention this car is 100% a street car, 60 mile commute daily, no aspirations beyond that :)

Thanks!

I am sure that this thread will be as one of our mods says "Ask 3 people and receive 4 opinions", but FWIW I have been having good luck with Performance Friction Z-rated pads (Carbon Metallic based). They are not cheap, but the braking performance is great, they are quiet, and they have less dust then OEM, Cool Willies, and Hawk HPS pads. I used to really like my HPS pads, but the heavy dusting and occasional noise were both a PITA.

I agree with this setup if you want a slightly better performance than OEM and less dust. PFC makes great brakes. :)
