No problem. Started looking at it after our text this morning. I wish they'd do a Lighting connector. But I assume that's mostly Apples fault.

Ya probably so. The one thing that I noticed is there doesn't seem to be a 90 degree iPod cable like the GM5150 has. The straight cable impedes the deck from sitting flush on the D5150 and GM510. Both the GM5150 and the GA5150 are the same size. It looks like they are a completely different plug. All the RCA plugs are now removable if you do not need them, that's nice. Those were really in the way during my install. I see there is a External Mic connection!

They also moved the MIC to the top of the deck, it almost looks like there are two of them, one on each side of the CD slot. Also the SD card slot are up top, easier to get reach.

That's the unit I would have been more interested in but I just noticed that the Eonon unit has better hardware specs. Considering Android is not a fluid platform (it doesn't run 100% smoothly from screen to screen), the better hardware should hopefully make it more fluid.

Of course there's a group buy when I'm trying to save money. :facepalm

I'm right there with you and for $350 even if there is minor issues it's worth it. I'm really happy with my GM5150. Going from the Business CD to the Eonon unit is a big improvement. The only issue I have is some radio stations have static. I could install another antenna in the the dash to remedy this but it's not that big of a deal.

I'd only prefer a Windows setup if it's based on a desktop platform. The mobile platform blows. The two people I know who has a Windows phone hate it.
Otherwise, as far as mobile platforms go, Android is more flexible compared to the other options, IMO.

I do wish the interface was nicer, but in this particular case, the flexibility makes up for it. Dunno.
Perhaps they'll release updated software in the future that'll make it look better? :dunno

Charlie that is the adapter I have and tried with my iPhone 6 on my GM5150. I got a Launch.exe error then my screen freaked out. I contacted Carlos and he said the iPhone 6's weren't compatible and sent me a firmware update to address the Launch.exe error and some other small issues. I do believe the same is for the GA5150 also. I'm using my iPhone 4 with my GM5150.

Here is a little something you wanted.


To anyone trying to get Navigation App working, here's what I did to get Waze (and Sygic) to work:

(1) Find a way to plug a microSD card into my computer (I used a hub)
(2) Go to Google Play on my computer and find the app I want. (ex. Waze)
(3) Copy the URL link from Google Play (ex. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.waze&hl=en (http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=1058202&page=9))
(4) Go to http://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/ and type in the Google Play URL to download the APK file
(5) Copy the APK file to the microSD card
(6) insert microSD card into the Eonon unit and run the APKInstaller that came with the unit
(7) Start Waze

I setup personal hotspot on my iPhone and connected the Eonon to the hotspot, so I can use Waze (online) while driving.

Also, 1 last tip. If you setup Waze (or another navigation app) to be launched from the NAVI physical button (Settings/GPS/GPS Application), make sure you click "GPS Monitoring" and setup your audio option. Otherwise, you can't play music/radio while in GPS screen. This took me a long time to figure out...

One other thing I did notice regarding the output for this unit is that it's 50w instead of 65w coming from the Windows units. Also I don't think I heard any difference in the bass when the equalizer was messed with.

The sound quality is fine. I don't really think there's much of a difference between stock (with Harmon Kardon) and the Eonon unit for sound quality.

Why would you have to cut the stock air box? The audio system is completely irrelevant to the intake.

From what I understand you need to do some trimming to fit a full size double din head unit, however I guess the Eonon's are a single din body with a double din display.
