Currently my e46 Touring does not have either the headlamp washer option or rear PDC. Would it be worth it for me to retrofit either? I think they are pretty cool but I know both have their issues. Thoughts.

Mikey, I am going to move your thread over to a technical forum unless you tell me that you're planning to use this thread as your project thread.

Let me know.

I'd rather not have the headlight washers and the PDC bumpers have those little divots that annoy me.

I've never thought the headlamp washers are a particularly beneficial option. I'm sure there are plenty of folks who would have use for them (living on a dirt road, dirt rally enthusiast, etc.), but I don't see myself as one of them. Add to that that retractable washers add more failure points & I just don't find myself needing them.

All they seem to be good for is getting fluid all over my hood...

I think the PDC might be worth it more than the H/L washers.

PDC, yes.
Headlight washers, no.

I don't see the point of the headlight washers without wiper blades. Okay, my headlights are dusty and dirty. Let's wash them... oh wait, all that did was soak the dirt and make it worse. :shifty

+1 I hate my headlight washers; so I capped them off.

Yeah Mikey, I wouldnt do it either...to me PDC has always looked odd on the rear bumper of the E46

headlight washers - no
pdc - maybe, if you live somewhere where you frequently have to parallel park in tight spots. little divots on the black bar are better than scratches on your bumper, imho. there's a diy in my sig if you do it. not oem though.

The wagon without Mt-2 have this type of set up for PDC. But I am planning on going with the Mt-2 kit so the PDC sensors would need the cutouts.

See I like the non-Mtech look on the PDC sensors...like on the E53 X5

Headlight washers are very prone to leaking, if you read a lot of forums about washer fluid. I would skip that "upgrade"

I know they are prone to leaking. I had to look at a friend's 05 330xi that has h/l washers last night which were having issues. Leaking from the pump/grommet and the nozzles were get stuck when the system shuts off.
