View Full Version : OE BMW Seat Belt Holder

I picked up a pair of the OE BMW seat belt holders because I am tired of the seat belts having issues. Getting twisted from me and passengers wearing winter jackets. So I installed both holders last night and the first time I go to use the seat belt the hook portion that the belt sits snapped off and then the passenger side hook snapped when my passenger went to use the seat belt. It seams that these are not designed to work in either a sedan or wagon. I think it would work better in a coupe. So I am very unhappy. Luckily BMW has a 1yr warranty on accessories.

BMW claims "Make it more comfortable to drive your BMW. This genuine BMW part fits E38 E39 E46 E53 E60 E61 E63 E65 E66 E70 E83 E83N E90 and E91."

I had no idea they existed. Gonna pick one up to try out on the coupe. Where did you purchase?

I picked the pair up at my friendly dealer. Part number 52-30-2-208-036 which sold for $40.00 or so.

Excellent. Just found them on Tischer and ordered.

Thank you, sir.

I may have to do this too. Gets old reaching back far to get the belt.

Do they have for tan interiors?

Black only. So yours is a facelifted version of mine. Jet Black with Hellbeige 2.

I think the black would look great with tan.

Cool. Thanks Mike!

I've also been thinking about a coat holder for the headrest. I had one in the e30 coupe - but it broke moving the seat to get things in and out of the back.

I am thinking about the coat hanger since the seat belt holder does not fit right.

:facepalm I missed what you said about it not working for sedans or wagons.

Glad I pulled my head back out and re-read your post before ordering.

Here are some pics off the holders off the seats. The hinges are made out of thin plastic so every time you go to pull the belt the holder portion flies off.

I really wish these worked out. I'm planning to return them as defective.

It was the first time that I've had a major let down with BMW accessories. I want to see what the other guys think about this part.

No. They shipped on the 12th so I figured they'd be here today. They shipped them USPS, though, so who knows.

My company refuses to ship USPS because the packages can not be tracked. But once in a while there will be that one customer with a PO Box.

Ok. These things might be the biggest piece of garbage I've ever seen come out of a BMW stamped box.

Just as previously described, they snap the instant you start to pull the belt.

Completely useless.

Yes, but Tischer has a 20% restocking fee.

I might try making some modifications to it.

Stay tuned.

Just like the 2007 coups with the seatbelt pusher mechanism...never actually works lol

I returned the ones I had today for a coat holder. Which works. No restock fee. The hinges should be metal not plastic.

I'm going to email Tischer and see if they'll waive the restock fee.

I thought the little lever part that you use to make the seat back fold forward also acts as the seat belt holder. When I unclip my belt, 99% of the time the belt lands neatly onto (and gets "held" by) that lever/hook part, and I never have to reach far back to grab it...

Absolutely, Wash. But if I just did that I couldn't spend money on another minor mod... and since it had been a solid 30 hours since I ordered anything for the car, well, you know I was all shaking and stuff.

Definitely sounds like the Keith we know... :biggrin

That is exactly what I used to do with the E30 coupe. I rested the seatbelt against the latch to hold it there. It looks better than an additional piece of plastic, IMO.
