Hey guys,

Where can I get clear reflectors for the front bumper? I ordered a set but they are too thin. What type/model reflector do I need?

Thanks
JD

old thread, but I have the same question. Where to buy clear front reflectors for my 05 ZHP convertible? Khoalty is no longer an option and non OEM reflectors appear to be too thin

Yup, they don't. Bimmian doesn't anymore. Have you tried ecstuning or fcpeuro? If not, I guess the dealer? getbmwparts.com usually has decent prices for oem.

Thanks John. I haven't been able to confirm the part for the clear reflector. That's where I need some input

If I look on ebay, this listing for the clear reflector says the part number is 63146920689 https://www.ebay.com/itm/04-06-BMW-E46-325ci-330ci-2D-Coupe-Cabrio-Clear-Front-Bumper-Reflector-Light/274324915745?epid=1317878917&hash=item3fdf0a0621:g:WYkAAOSw0uRehOEH:sc:USPSFirs tClass!03031!US!-1.

But if I look on ECS, that part is yellow https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-bmw-parts/front-bumper-reflector-left/63146920689/

And RealOEM lists 2 part numbers for a reflector, https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-bmw-parts/front-bumper-reflector-left/63146920689/

They're both yellow!

So......

If I search ECS for just "clear reflector", I do find a part that doesn't appear to be OEM - "Depo"? https://www.ecstuning.com/b-depo-parts/2004-2006-bmw-e46-2d-cabrio-crystal-clear-front-bumper-reflector/344-1408pxu-vc~d/

I see these Depo parts on ebay too but I've seen forum posts that say the Ebay reflectors are too thin

Hmmm, they should be clear. I switched mine to color-matched ones. Not heard/sure about the quality/fit of the Depo ones.

Assuming yours fit well, do you remember where you bought them? That might be an option, or maybe they have clear ones.......

actually just found your post from 2012... you've had them a while http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?7359-Andrew-s-05-Sparkling-Graphite-Coupe&styleid=7

I took a shot and ordered these from Ebay. Half ECS price.......we'll see. At least they've sold 600+ of them

I bought a set of smoked reflectors a few years back, from the same seller. Keep me posted how fitment is for you, mine fit snugly in the bumper cutout fine but the reflectors seemed "flatter" than stock, so the front end sticks out a bit:

Thanks, t.er and Rando, I can see the slight curvature in the OEM ambers I have (makes sense based on the shape of the bumper). Makes me wonder if they can't be warmed up in boiling water and bent/shaped if needed.... but gotta receive em first.....first things first

As an FYI... There is no OEM clear reflector. The amber reflectors are for the US market only. EU cars with the M-Sport bumper (or whatever it is called--M-Aero2--ie the ZHP front bumper) don't have any reflectors in them at all. Stupid DOT requirement...

Hey Pete, did you end up having the same issues I did? I just placed an order for a 2nd set, wondering if they've improved or not

It took me 2 sets to finally get them installed. I had purchased a new OEM bumper, so I assumed that sizing/fitment should be correct, but I broke the 1st set trying to install them because it took so much force to push them in. I ended up having to carefully use a Dremel tool on the brand new bumper (cringe) to get them in. And even doing that, I put a slight chip in this one.....

38105I bought the OEM Euro bumper so I wouldn’t need reflectors…

Oh man sorry to hear that... I didn't have trouble getting my 1st set in but was never truly happy with the fit. Hopefully their quality hasn't gone down then!

Just FYI I bought these exact same ones again, same issue. Heck, even the back end had a gap as well.

However you can just ask for a refund from the seller, I forget how much I got back the 1st time around but this time he offered 25%. Gonna take that because I don't care as much, and I'd crack it trying to remove it, like I did the old one.
