I've yet to hear the BMW Performance Exhaust on a e46. Does anyone have one installed or has heard it?

Wow...Just realized I asked a noob question...lol

Isn't the Performance exhaust part of the Performance Package? :dunno

Well, if we're being honest here, I didn't know BMW had any performance exhausts except on m cars...

Point being, don't feel bad about the noob question :)

Well, I'm pretty sure its just an aftermarket (well its BMW, so not aftermarket) version of the Performance Package (ZHP) muffler. I would expect it to be slightly deeper/throatier than stock, but nothing drastic.

Too loud...

It's one of the quietest exhausts for the E46. I absolutely loved mine. No Drone...only noticeable in cabin when in WOT

Description.
An engine that exhales easier is an engine that will run smoother, rev higher, accelerate faster, and deliver more horsepower - but that's not all. As the RPMs escalate, so does the exhaust note, creating a racy but never intrusive sound. Now drivers can not only feel the enhanced performance, but hear it with every shift and acceleration.

* Improves exhaust flow and subsequently engine performance by reducing back presure
* Manufactured using cutting edge CAD and FEA technology to ensure optimum fitting accuracy and OEM quality
* Manufactured from highest-quality stainless steel ensuring durability and corrosion resistance
* Designed for E46 M54 cars (330i, 325i)
Benefits
* Increases engine performance by up to 5 hp at 6000 rpm
* Sound level and quality optimized to achieve perfect balance between sporty performance and long-distance driving requirements
* Great exterior and interior sound
* Overall weight of 20.7 lbs - almost 8.8 lbs lighter than the stock version
* Two brushed stainless steel tips on the rear muffler give the exhaust a unique, high-tech look; plus they are adjustable
Kit content
* Rear muffler
* Two brushed stainless steel tips
* Clamp

I've heard the BMW Performance exhaust for e9x and 1 series. I was wondering if it sounds similar. Tischer has the e46 can on special right now for $585.00

I did some BMWFans.info research & it appears to not be the case. There are four unique part numbers for 330 mufflers:
Performance muffler: 18-10-0-432-742
S767A (ZHP) muffler: 18-10-7-919-236
"Sports" muffler: 18-10-0-026-767
Normal muffler: 18-10-7-504-172

Saw a video of it and it seemed much louder than the Magnaflow I was looking at.

I was doing a little homework today. Looks like the BMW Performance exhaust has a different number than the one you listed. The part ending in 2742 is for the sport muffler.

The BMW Performance exhaust is actually part number 18-10-0-429-614. I was working on the FAQ here at the site when I realized it.

The part ending in 6767 is also listed as a sport muffler.
