Does anyone own this product? If so, reviews? I'm looking for a good scan tool to run/clear codes, reset lights, coding, etc. This one looks like it does more than most I've found, and the price is decent. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Come again?

He is saying you can use PA soft (http://www.bmw-scanner.com/) for what you are trying to do.

Oh gotcha, sorry it's still early... I found a couple products below when I googled it, is this what we're talking about? Seems like a smoking deal, $30?! All of the ones listed on Amazon appear to be the same unit as the one from Xcar360.com, just with a different name. I assume it's 6 of one, half dozen of the other?

I also came across this link with a bunch of info...

I picked up a BMW Scanner with PA Soft from Tony (Tnhl1989) for about $35 from his for sale thread here (http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?14456-FS-PASOFT-BMW-SCANNER-1-4). He might have more. The scanner and software fulfills pretty much all of my coding needs, but I should say I'm not particularly tech/coding savvy. You can see what I did over in my build thread (click the link in my sig). There are scanners that will allow you to do more specific items, but the jump in price for them seems pretty high to me.

Yeah, PA Soft is your best bet I'd say.

Tony still has a ton. Send him a PM (thhl1989 is his username) and he can get you one.

I'm rather un-tech savvy myself, so I guess we're in the same boat! I just need to read/clear codes/lights most of all, but I'd also like to play around with the settings/coding. And for the price, you can't beat $30! Thanks for the info man

I have PA Soft so I am unlikely to get this tool, but it seems pretty neat. Seems like something you can keep in your trunk. I wonder if they're going to put up a youtube video of the tool in action.

My pleasure! You should also be aware that the install for the software can be a bit confusing, but just read through the instructions and take your time and you should have it working properly.

Haha great... I hope my work doesn't mind me installing it on their laptop!

If it's a work laptop, you probably don't even have rights to install it. :rofl
(Unless... you are an ADMIN!)

Is that funny? Why wouldn't I be able to install the program on my laptop? Let me reiterate, I am not tech savvy, so cut a guy a little slack

You need admin rights to install/configure it. Do you have them? What OS?

Companies typically restrict access so regular users such as yourself can't install software. They like to maintain tight control over their environments.

Well shit. I work at a tech company, so I'm sure there's firewalls setup to restrict the install. Guess I better slip the IT guy a 5er and tell him to pass me the admin rights!

A fiver will get you laughed at. lol
He will definitely not pass you admin rights (unless he's really "loose" - shame on him!), but maybe he can install it for you, depending on how uptight management is about unapproved software.

I was being facetious, I'm not going to attempt to pay off an IT guy in my office... I'm good friends with a couple of them, I'll just run it by them in a quick hallway conversation
