Hi everyone, i'm new here, I live in Quebec Canada.

I just bought a 330ci 2004 with the performance package ( ZHP ) for US.

I was surprise this morning when I read the frequently asked question section where it is said that there is no ZHP for Canada, just esthetic change... it's an error.

I bought an Imola red 330ci, it has dropped suspension, zhp rims, alcantra steering with m badge, short shifter 6 speed with te m badge, difference exhaust with a more sporty sound, little spoiler on the trunk and m tech body kit all around.... OK, but for the engine ???
The engine has the 6800 rpm limit.. the only difference is the red zone who comes at 6500, but the limit is 6800 ( tested). I read that this is a particularity here in canada, we don't get the ZHP special cluster.

It is not imported from the states, cluster is in km/h and I've made verifications with the serial number.
SO, there is ZHP in Canada !

Welcome David to the forum. I can run your VIN using BMW's VIN decoder that will give me the build date and options.

David, welcome to the site.

The ZHP was available in the US. The ZAM, which is what you have, is the ZHP equivalent in Canada. The information on the ZAM can be found here: http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?1789-Frequently-Asked-Questions-%28FAQ%29-About-the-BMW-E46-330-ZHP-Performance-Package-Option

I thought I've read that you could get it both ways in Canada. Identical to ours and identical minus the 235HP engine. I do recall also that the cluster was different.....no red needles and apparently the tach/redline markings are different too.

Just doing a little reading around the Interwebs.

There was an M Performance Package for Canada. There was also an M sport. In Mexico, it was called the Formula One Package.

In the FAQ I said that the M Clubsport did not get the engine tweaks. That's true.

But I need to nail down whether the M Performance Package in Canada did.

Once we figure that out, then we can amend the FAQ.

I just found an article from 2003 that discusses the M Performance Package in Canada. Yes, same specs as the US-only ZHP package. I want to find an official press release from Canada.

Looks like there was both M-sport and M-sport Performance Package available in Canada. M-sport package was just the standard 225hp 330i with the M-tech II aero. Where the M-sport Performance Package is the Canadian version of the ZHP. The M-sport package has the standard 330i thick chrome exhaust tips with the flap in the right side tip. The M-sport Performance Package has the ZHP exhaust with the thinner walls.

Canadian specific M Performance package cars (factory option code ZAM)

I have already amended the FAQ. Glad we have this incremental information. Makes the FAQ more valuable.

Thanks, guys, for correcting the FAQ.

Mikey, that was the article I found earlier. I found additional articles around the same time.

The FAQ has been expanded as a result of this information (http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?1789-Frequently-Asked-Questions-%28FAQ%29-About-the-BMW-E46-330-ZHP-Performance-Package-Option).

LOL looks like our "zips" have "zam" brethren to the North! :rofl

Thanks guys, i'm glad I really have a ZHP, I was beginning to doubt it because it's difficult to find information about the Package offered in Canada.

It is by far the best car i've owned, i'm 26 and I used to drive a 2000 acura integra GSR.

My 330ci has only 95000 kilometers ( about 59000 miles), it drives so well.
