BBS CH-R Fitment Question

Hey All,

I'm planning to change out my wheels and hoping to get some advice/guidance here. I want to make sure they fit correctly and don't want to deal with any rubbing issues.

I'm looking at the BBS CH-R (18x8 in front, 18x9 in rear). According to Tirerack, I can run the same size tires as I have on my stock 135s.

Front: 18x8, 40mm offset
Rear: 18x9, 44mm offset

Doing some research online, it appears that the fronts will poke out 7mm more than the stock rims. With the rears, the inner rim will be .4mm closer to the suspension strut and the outer rim will poke out 12.4 mm more than the stock rims.

Has anyone here run this setup successfully without any issues or rubbing? Any pictures by chance? I could go 18x8 all around, but prefer the staggered setup.

Sorry if this topic has been beaten to death. Figured I would pose the question and get some helps from you all.

Are you sure? Tire rack and BBS site don't mention any issues. I'm just concerned bc I can't find any threads or pictures of non-M3 e46s with this setup.

Btw - I have stock suspension and am not interested in rolling my fenders or any other modification at this time.

If the numbers you quoted in your first post are correct, you will probably need a roll. Is your car stock ride height, or is it lowered? Sedan or coupe?
On my car, an et40 wheel with 8.5" width (255/40-17 tires) required a roll so it didn't rub. My car had a somewhat aggressive ride height, so that probably attributed to why I needed a roll.

Stock suspension on a sedan here. I spoke to TireRack at length and they claim their measurements are spot on and that I shouldn't have a problem. I placed my order, so we'll have to wait and see (fingers crossed).

I was worried about offset/rub issues, but all is well. I'm very happy with the result.

Stock 135s with brand new Dunlops will be for sale soon, in case anyone wants first dibs.

Alpine white on e90 or f30 doesn't look as good as it looks on e46... Not even close...

I went with the same size tries as stock - 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 in the rear.

The 9 inch wheels in the back were perfect for the 255s, which needed have a bit more stretch than they did on the stock 8.5 inch rear wheels.

I made sure to look up the tread width on TireRack before ordering. I know, for example, that some of the Michelins would have had a much wider stance in the same size wheel.

I'll try to take better close up pictures over the weekend and post.

Yeah was gonna say I had 9.5 rears before, on a KWV3s and 265's and I wasn't rolled. You'll be fine ;)
