I searched the forum but i didn't find anything about it.

I need a new starter.. is it the same starter for a ZHP and a no-ZHP

( I change it because de bendix stick sticks on the flyweel at cold start, it causes a bad grinding sound for half a second before it finally release.) When the engine is hot, it's ok, but a mechanic told me it's a sign my starter is going bad slowly. )

So.. is it the same starter for ZHP and no-ZHP ?

Second question, can I damage something if I don't fix my starter ?

Thanks !!

First question. Same starter.

Second starter. It depends on what's damaged on the starter.

thanks,

For what's damaged on the starter, i'm pretty sure it's the bendix who doesn't release fast enough from the flyweel. It makes a sound like I was starting the engine when it's already started. It does it for about half second.

Ok...yeah...prolly just get the Bosch(?) that they list on realoem? I don't know if the aftermarket ones are any good. Someone else can maybe chime in....

Could just be the heavy guage positive wire.

Ok.. Where is this wire and how I can see if it's my problem.. Not the starter.

Find the thick positive wire from the starter follow it to the end and check for resistance. Just a guess here on the wire being the issue but is worth checking.
