So I was tempted to install a oem aux kit part #82-11-0-149-389 for my 04 330i but after reading a guide and going out the my car, realized that it did not have the aux mode in my stereo. Just wondering if anyone had any experience doing this or if they had any insight to my situation.

Heres the link.

Did my 04 somehow come with a older radio that doesn't have aux or do I have to install it to have that option. Kind of irritated. -_- I'll go check if mine is prewired for sat radio tomorrow.

AUX will not show as an available mode until the OEM cable is installed.

DIY is here along with some discussion about your question.

Indeed. If you do not have it plugged in, you won't be able to cycle through that mode. I installed the OEM aux-in on my mothers '04 325i. I followed the my330i DIY and it works great!

Ditto. Did mine last week and the mode button started cycling thru radio, cd, then aux where previously it was back and forth from radio to cd.

Just did mine last week. I think it took longer to get that trim piece off the passenger side (because I was being so careful) than it did to put the aux input wire in.

:scratchinghead Call them with the part number that's listed in the DIY you linked to. Ask if they have it in stock....
