Been a long time searching but just purchased a jet black, natural brown ZHP. Very well maintained by an enthusiast himself. And best of all was the guy lived only 5 minutes from me:roundel299732997429975

Only sad thing is now I have to sell my Alpine White one.. :(

And just now realized I probably put this in the wrong thread... just now saw the "bought a new car" thread

That's one good looking car. Doesn't look like the PO had very many backseat passengers.

You know what I do have time for? And only because it's a much needed public service?

Bring that thing by and I'll pop out the CDV. No one should have to drive a car with that. No one.

Thanks! And to be honest, I have no clue if I had seen it in the area before I purchased it. I think it has actually been in the same area its entire life. PO got it from a dealer that told him someone just traded it in for an Audi.

hahaha. I was actually just reading about that a few days ago. I'll definitely plan on removing it after I drive it for a little (kinda want to actually see the difference it makes). And currently the car is back in Cary. I'm still in Charlotte for a few more weeks because of Track (I run for UNCC), so I'm "stuck" driving my auto for a little longer.. haha. Just curious, where in Charlotte do you live? Maybe I'll see you/your around if your ever close to the University.

I'm in Uptown, but I work on the other side of NoDa and sometimes run up to your hood to get my Chipotle fix. I was actually on campus a few weeks ago and that place is gorgeous now. You must make them a ton of money running track lol!

Cool, not far at all. And it really is starting to become quite the school. It's grown so much in the last few years.. and oh yea... everyone knows Track and Field is how schools make their money these days.... :rofl

130k. That's why I'm even more impressed about the condition of the car. But I'll take a higher mileage, highly maintained one any day over one with little to no maintenance. Especially at the price I paid.

Love to hear that type of conversations on here.... longevity is the goal. Achieving it is a matter of fastidiously performing the necessary maintenance services. Thats the main lesson I've learned from you all. Thanks

Maybe i should have quoted the "high" part.. lol. I still have a 98 dodge durango that my dad bought new and it has 260,000 miles so I guess everything is relative(that definitely is high mileage for a non diesel dodge IMO..haha). But I'm hoping to keep the car well past the 200k mark.

...... But I'm hoping to keep the car well past the 200k mark.

Easily can be done. Had mine to the 280k mark before its untimely demise. zero consumption, original clutch, looked like a 100k car. even the alcantara was very presentable.

When you mentioned that earlier I was curious and texting the PO if he had removed it at any point and he said while he didn't remove it himself, it was already taken out. I'm changing the oil today and gonna take a look while I'm under there. Don't have anything to base it off of in terms of knowing what it feels like with/without it since this is my first time driving the car.

Ah, word. Must be why you like driving it so much!

Here's a DIY with some helpful pics of what to look for so you can tell if it's there or not.

Nice looking car and three pedals to boot! I must have called on 3 or 4 cars with "manual" trans only to out it was a steptronic. I finally quit asking about the trany and swithed to "How many pedals?"

I figured it would help the white car sell a little better. I also don't mind the amber stuff quite as much on the black car but I will likely change it out. I'm still debating if I want the leds or the euro clear taillights..

I'm with BP. For whatever reason, I think the standard three segment tails look much better on a sedan than using the the two-section LEDs that are found on coupes.

The man speaks the truth. Gotta go RCR or RAR on a sedan. So clean.

LED bulbs for the stock lights solve the function aspect of it and look great when they are lit.

I think I'm gonna do the RCRs just want to find some for a decent price. I definitely noticed the fitment of the leds wasn't quite as good. Any opinions on the kidneys? I'm thinking I want to black those out as well so I can add three little M colors on the vertical slats.. The chrome doesn't bother me to much either though. All in all I feel like the original lights don't look nearly as bad on the black cars as they did on the white one

This, or wherever you can find them cheap. Proper fitment and the best looks for black grilles, IMO.

Anyone have some better advice on how to actually remove the grills? I usually end up braking off all the clips on accident.. Would be nice to keep the chrome ones in case I needed them down the road

There's YouTube videos on how best to remove the grilles. I used the BavAuto one

Do be aware though that the plastic on your factory chrome grilles will be very brittle and prone to breaking due to age and heat cycling, so take your time and be patient.

My seat looks incredible in pictures and overall is still in very good shape. One thing that does frustrate me is it's slightly sticky. I used leatherique on all the seats but that ended up making the stickyness worse.. Not sure why but unless y'all have some advice I was just gonna wait and see if it gets better over time
