Hi Everyone:

This is Jack. I picked this car up in late May at a used car lot in Phoenix, AZ with 130k miles one it, after I did a PPI and multiple price negotiations. I was not planning to buy but I've been looking for fun online for some time and this ZHP just happened to show up locally. The underlying chassis of the car was very mechanically sound and nothing imminent needed fixing, so I could not pass up on it even though it needed lots of small to moderate amount of routine repair work at the 10 year mark that I'm familiar with . My prior car was a much older 2000 e46 coupe (that I owned for over 16 years) which had its engine crippled after the car hit road debris at night and it was not economical to fix.

This is my replacement daily driver and automatic which I wanted (for the unpaved, aged city streets we have here in Phoenix). I've put 1,000 miles on it over 3 weeks. I love the reliability of the E46, the telegraphic steering , the mechanics of it, revving the inline engine for power, being closer to the road feel, and the minimal electronics. This is going to be a fun project over the next 12 months to re-hab the car to a sporty DD, a little bit at a time. I will do some DIY that I can get my hands to, but the indy shop will do the heavy stuff. I'll have questions on how to fix stuff but here are some of what I've done.

Replaced or Re-touch:
Oil all interior leather seats and plastic dashboard
Engine air filter
Cabin air filter
Hood insulation
NGK sparkplugs

Next up:
Oil change
Paint touch-up

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Here is a few better pictures taken with my digital camera. This was on the second day of having the car; after it's been detailed. This road and scenery are typical when you go outside of Phoenix. Most roads outside of town are well paved. You'll want to stay many cars length away from trucks(in and out of town)since they tend to cause lots of chips on the front hood. It also gets dusty fast in AZ and dry-blower level hot here.

Hi, a question here. is this color different with the Silver ZHP? Is it more of a grey color available on the e92? I'm really digging that gray color!

I did a google on a BMW Silver ZHP to see what that color is like. No. My Sparkling Graphic Metallic color is not like that at all.
On pic#1, taken with a cell phone camera, taken today under bright sunlight and the color is more true: as light grayish metallic. It's like when you use a lead pen to make one pass to fill in a sketched drawing on white paper. It will not be mistaken for the silver or black. On the pic#2, taken on a digital camera, on a cloudy day at the beach in CA, the color appears much darker and firmer that I like. From google images on BMW e92 grey or space grey color, my car does not look like that either. This color could be mistaken to have hints of blue in it from afar. I think it is analagous to the M4 Azurite Black Metallic color, where on a cloudy day, you can see hint of purple color on it to give it that dual color possibility. I might need to take some more shots using a digicam today. 30456

I love this color! I was looking for a gray colored zhp or a blue one, more like m3 blue though. The color looks very nice!! Give it some Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant and it will shine like you've never seen before :mwah
