Well it's officially fall here on the east coast and with that comes the opportunity to witness the leaves changing.

Would anyone be interested in a get together on Skyline drive? We have done this in the past so just putting an idea out there.

Definitely down if I ever put my car back together. Can probably drag @Galapolis and @704sw along too.

Where exactly is this Skyline drive? Haven't heard of it yet. I'd definitely be down though.

Are we starting at the southern most entrance? Would be most convenient for us triad guys (@sw704 @ZHPizza).

I drove on Skyline Drive a few years back when I visited my son in VA. Cops were EVERYWHERE—took a lot of the fun out of it!

Considering my cracked RACP, I'd be happy with just a cruise over spirited driving. But I assume Vas will know the area well and inform us about all the hot spots.

Ideally that would be the meet up point at the entrance and we would cruise to the exit on top of Afton Mountain. There are some local breweries and wine places there.

I have done this route both ways and it's more of a cruise vs a spirited drive in the mountains. The speed limit is around 35mph iirc.

Any particular weekend dates in mind? Or how about the 24th of October?

You're lucky to get up to 35 when you're sitting in traffic with all the leaf peepers - at least this happens on Skyline Drive!

Cool idea. Depending on timing, I'd definitely be interested in meeting. The Front Royal entrance is about an hour from me but I can be flexible on where to meet.

Any concrete plans at this point?
