View Full Version : Looking for a Logo

The SixSins created the ZHP Mafia logo at the top of the site. I suck at stuff like this. I couldn't design my way out of a paper bag. If any of you want to contribute to the logo warehouse, please feel free to post them here in this thread.

Optimal size is 500x60.

I like the ///M logo. Nice splash of color, bullet holes are a lil gangsta, but not too much...just the right amount.

I would like to see more ideas...but I am liking this one.

I've asked Six for permission to use the logo. If he tells me to yank this one, it will come down.

It just needs to be resized.

See that little blue space below the logo? It's a buffer. I have tried to make the logo taller but no dice.

I've got over 10 years of photoshop experience, unfortunately it's not installed on my work laptop. I'll try to put one together when I get out of here.

Cool. We'll know we have a winner when we see it. It's kind of like porn that way. :cool:

Thanks, Tampa.

Logo looks great! Definitely curious to see what others bring to the table.

Here's my first attempt. I still have the psd in case anyone likes it and wants to make any tweaks. The two mafia guys are essentially 'borrowed' from google images, then their respective anti-copying crap removed and resized for my needs. Not my best work, so I'll try to come up with more when my schedule lets up a little.

That looks good, T. It matches the color of the site, too, which might help it blend in with the top part of the site.

I'll throw it up top and see what everyone thinks.

If only it fit flush with the light blue bar just below it. Fifty pixels isn't a lot of space to work in, hard to cram anything but text in it and have it still look recognizable, let alone the entire image fit inside so there's no runoff. I see it up there now, at least the color exactly matches!

Let me look around and see if I can figure it out. It could be that the template has a hard-coded box there that doesn't allow us to bring the logo down to where the other blue bar is.

If you can modify the html, the hr tag just before the navbar should be removed:
<hr />
</div>
<div id="navbar" class="navbar">

Fixed. I didn't have to change the HTML coding. Instead, there is a form in the software that allows you to select margin at top, right, left, and bottom. It was set at 10 pixels. I made it 0.

I like the one up there now, also.

Can the "zhp" be in a heavier font? Looks kinda weak.

It's tight in that bmw logo. I made them as big as they go, but I see what you mean. Perhaps a faint neon glow will bring some more attention to the zhp:

Marcus-SanDiego

I just keep putting them up on the site as they come in. There is a street glow look to it. But we're heading in the right direction.

Here's a version with white letters and red glow pulled from a photo of imola red:

And the same, except also with imola red letters as well:

I think I like the neon yellow.

I think yellow looks better with the site colors.

But following close behind, for me, is the first of the two red ones. I like the red glow with white letters.

Red is currently on the site. Which looks better? I am leaning toward yellow. Matches the site better (my opinion).

Yellow is now back on the site. Matches the site better. Until something better comes along, this is the logo for now.

But the logo overall is really sexy looking, well done.

The great thing is that you do not have to own a ZHP to be a member of this site. It's an enthusiast site. If you have any love at all for the ZHP, this is the place to be.

Thanks, Rayzah. It's easy to run the site right now. Not a lot of members. The challenge is when the site becomes active. That's when the work really starts (lots of people to monitor).

Well the good thing is this is a true enthusiast site, and not one you happen to 'fall' across when googling angel eyes or street glow.. so it should maintain a pseudo intelligent/respectable member base. Let's just hope I can behave well enough here that I don't get booted and have to come back as a washed out 70's sitcom icon :D

Marcus-SanDiego
11-23-2010, 08:50 AM
Rayzah, the only reason you'd get booted is if you disrespect other members here. I don't see that happening.

Also, because you know the founder of this site, I think it makes a difference. I couldn't imagine misbehaving on bimmerfest -- because of my relationship to Jon Shafer. I'd think that my behavior is a direct slap to Jon. As a result, because I know many of you guys well, I don't see this site getting out of hand.

It will stay professional. I believe that.

Marcus-SanDiego
11-23-2010, 08:58 AM
And the red on the ZHP does tie in better with the little BMW icons that turn red when you have not read a forum. So, there is that.

They don't stand out enough against the dark blue back ground.....

I've been thinking about this one, and I gotta agree with Dane's comment here. I like ///M: Class, taste, message. And if we need holes, make them injector spray marks or something. Just sayin....What one distinguishing feature of ZHP could be incorporated in the logo, in addition to ///M? Front bumper, cube trim, shifter knob, 135's........I dunno; heck, I draw stick people.
(Sorry if I'm behind the curve on this one)

Marcus-SanDiego
11-23-2010, 12:21 PM
I draw stick figures, too.

We've already left the first logo behind. We're on 2.0 now. Hopefully someone with a lot more talent than me will create another one -- perhaps with some M colors.

danewilson77
11-23-2010, 04:15 PM
Maybe we could use the ///M logo....with maybe one of the gangsta's? Combo deal? Where did the ///M logo go....it's MIA?
