Do you want to fix it? Will you be happy if they repair it?

Yeah my car will be better than before it was in the accident. No frame damage or anything, just some suspension pieces. The control arm namely.

Anyway the shop is very good. I think they may blend the hood, they are blending the driver door when they buy the new bumper and respray the fender. It is a lot of work.
[/I]
My rear bumper has some scuffs so I may get that done while the car is in the shop.

That sounds promising. I like what I'm hearing. Hell, if you ever wanted to repaint your car a different color, this is the time to do it.

I've always said that if my 335 gets in a big wreck, I am going to have it repainted imola red. Ha!

I don't have that kind of money... haha. I am going to see if I can get the scratched pillar fixed, some PDR done, and my tint matched on the front windows finally.

Meanwhile I'm driving a mint 318is (E30) :D

Fuck the car. I'm glad you and your family are okay. I've done some serious zigging and zagging to avoid acidents.
If my mom and sis are in the car, I'm doing the exact same thing.
The damage, although extensive, is probably 100% "good as new"fixable.

Thanks for the kind words guys, and yes my car is pretty goodlookin if I may say so myself.

So I really like the style 135s, but I think the body shop would reimburse the amount of money they have allotted for two refinished wheels to put towards other wheels if I asked, not sure. I'd pay the difference. I'm looking at the VMR V701, this photoshop makes them look more like 19s but oh well.

BTW one of my rear zhp wheels has a bend and will need to be replaced, the price difference is negligible between replacing my one wheel and getting four new VMRs (part my money, part the money they have for replacing my front wheels).

LMK if you want to sell your two fronts.

zhp43867
11-26-2010, 08:29 AM
Doh, haha. Does anyone have any opinions on the VMRs? I think I may stick with the 135s and spacers.

They could look very good, or they could end up just looking okay.

I'm just a huge fan of the M135s.

jjcools
11-26-2010, 10:00 AM
I think both are nice, for stock wheels the 135s are by far some of the nicest looking. I think the only reason to get into a different wheelset would be to get something a bit lighter, that is jmo.

Marcus-SanDiego
11-26-2010, 10:01 AM
Agree. If you must get new wheels, be sure they're ultra light (for less unsprung weight).

zhp43867
11-26-2010, 10:32 AM
Like the ARC-8? Hmm, those are expensive. I'd have to think if it is worth it to me...

MrMaico
11-26-2010, 10:48 AM
That's the thing with wheels, you can get cheap and you can get light but you can't get cheap and light and still have good quality.

IMO, with the VMR wheels, the two I like the best are the V710 or the VB3 styles.

zhp43867
11-26-2010, 10:59 AM
I could get these, I'd get 18x8.5" Hyper Black. This photoshop is a 17", but what do you guys think of these. BTW any VMR or Avant Garde wheel in 18" is probably at least 3-5lbs lighter per wheel than our stock tanks.

These are about 10lbs lighter than my wheels per corner.

Marcus-SanDiego
11-26-2010, 11:12 AM
Those look decent.

I have my eye on the BBS CH (assuming I ever swap out).

zhp43867
11-26-2010, 12:37 PM
I don't find the look of the CHs that great on facelift E46s, they work better on pre-facelift coupes and M3s, jmo. They aren't that light are they? 23.9lbs each in 18x8.5" according to tire rack.

The apex wheel would look better than the photoshop, I just don't know if it's worth it.

Marcus-SanDiego
11-26-2010, 02:52 PM
True. Not that light. When I was looking for light wheels, for other cars, I always headed toward OZ and SSR.

zhp43867

Now I'm thinking 19" staggered vmr v713s and Michelin PS2s and some 19" snows. :cool

Wow I just found this thread. Mine doesn't seem nearly as bad as this. I hit a rock on the passenger side and didn't damage the suspension components that bad if at all. My major damage was where the strut tower mushroomed. I guess after seeing this thread the possibility of my car being totalled sounds plausible.

Hey- my shock tower was replaced entirely. I do not think your car should be totaled if it is "just" the tower, as I'm guessing your car's assessed value is higher than mine. Whatever happens, good luck!

Thanks for the support guys.
