Hey all,

My name's Pete. I, uh, just moved to the DC/VA/MD area. I came across this site either through Bimmerforums or R3vlimited - either way it doesn't matter.

Anyway, I've moved up in the world and I figure I should probably get a new car. I'm coming from an E30 ('88 325is), so I'm not new to BMW. I've had my eyes set on a ZHP for a few weeks now. I was doing research and had things narrowed down to the ZHP, an E46 M3 and a WRX. Although the WRX is comparable in performance, it's so boring on the inside. Nothing is happening. The M3 is tempting, but I'm trying to steer clear of valve adjustments and 14 dollar quarts of oil. Plus, I'd like four doors. So, ZHP it is. It's sporty looking, seems to have plenty of power and comes with six speed. The thing is, I've never driven an E46 M3 or a ZHP. I'll change that come September.

I figured I'd just post in here because I might make a post from time to time, but I'm mostly going to be lurking in the classifieds and maintenance sections to gauge what's going on in terms of pricing and problems.

This forum seems pretty professional so far, which is nice. So, if you have any questions, just shoot. I'll try to answer them. Although, I don't know what you'd ask.

Best,
Pete

Welcome. I should say: there is no moving "up" from an E30 325is. That's right up there at the top of the best rides a bimmerphile could have. Keep that thing and make it a track car.

Thanks for the welcome!

I do indeed enjoy my E30 and it was a tough decision to finally decide to give it up soon. I would get angry at it while away, but then I'd take a couple turns and the love would return... The E30 is probably one of the most fun cars I've ever driven!

Anyway, I'll try to post legitimate things when I get the chance. The classifieds section here, though, is pretty killer.

Pete, sounds good. We do our best with the classifieds section. We're always on the hunt for ZHPs.

Take care.
