I appreciate our lurkers. What's more, you guys may not hear from them here but I do meet them in the real world. There are a lot of them. Very nice people who would be excellent contributors and members.

Anyhow, thanks for visiting the site on a regular basis.

I'd love to see some of you guys join.

If they join in, then they're not lurkers anymore. Lurk on! I can fall into lurkdom at any moment, so I speak the language. I always lurk a bit before I contribute at any pace to a forum. It's a trust thing. It's because one time my mom told me the pool was shallow and it wasn't.

I'm sure I will be taking turns with my wife chasing my daughter all over Dane's front yard. That may constitute lurking as my attention will be focused elsewhere... :biggrin

I lurk at basically every other site except this one.

Favorite lurking of all time has to be 2007ish on the MINI forums as the aftermarket became one big death match of manipulation, fanboys, screaming, name-calling, and an all around Orwellian nightmare.

Thanks! This is my first car I have had a winter setup for, and now I don't know how I ever lived without one. I was astonished at what a capable car the ZHP is in the snow with blizzaks on it. I was frequently the only one in my neighborhood to make it to the top of the hill I live on.

When someone comes on and asks about what oil should he use or what's the best angel eyes. I have a special place in my heart for them. What I said has nothing to do with lurkers.

I am saying I love the family search option.

I know I lurk more than post. Heck Marcus saw me on the street more than posting for a while there!

But for a true lurker, if they posted then they wouldnt be a lurker!

They are still a valuable part of the site, as they are the ones that must be getting real value if they keep coming back to learn/discover something new.

I think this is a commonly shared thought for new members. It was for me at least.

Once you post you realize that everyone here is friendly and that a lot of people are willing to go out of their way to lend you some help. Why?

Lurker here... I just joined the other day, but I've been perusing the board off-and-on for a couple of years. I've never been one to post much on boards. After spending a lot of time on NASIOC and VWVortex I kinda felt like there was too much noise/garbage on the interwebs and never wanted to add to it.

[I] think I may qualify as a lurker as I am kind of shopping for a ZHP. 20 year BMWCCA member. Anyway, here is my question: Do the cars that have around 100,000 or so start to exhibit some of the problems one does not normally think of, such as seats getting worn (and not just upholstery) door hinges and things like that. I currently have an Audi A6 with about 155,000 that is still fairly tight. I found an 04 coupe with 105,000 for $10,500, 6 speed. I passed on a really nice auto last fall for $18,000 with about 35,000. So, in my mind, do I search and find the lower mileage car and spend more? OR, at 100,000, I know it will need suspension, but then that is all new parts. On the afore mentioned Audi, I waited until it shimmied before doing the work. Should have done sooner, as it made a world of difference. Sorry for the long ramble

You should be able to find a find example, around 100k miles, with all necessary maintenance completed.

Good seeing you around.
