Awesome Mark that's a well done review, you think this will make it to Roundel?

Marcus-SanDiego

Not sure, Ryan. Marc Biunno was in attendance -- and he is a Roundel columnist. Not sure if he's doing anything with the event, though.

Yea it's only a matter of time before people start up with the angry "I thought this was supposed to be a MINI column!" e-mails. hahaha

hehe. Marc, that's funny. The name of the column is Bimmer Lite, right?

Seriously, though, are you supposed to be writing a MINI column?

That's how it was conceived. But I'm offered lots of leeway.

:eeps

Maybe you should've driven the Mini down? I remembered you said something about not driving the Mini - so you drove the orient blue... any reason why? Just curious....

You could've entitlted (or subtitled) any column about the meet: "A Mini among many..."

(Sorry... couldn't help myself...) :rofl

Marcus-SanDiego

I think the drive is too harsh with the MINI on long distances. I think Marc has it dialed in for the track.

Yep. Plus, the car sat with a dead battery for 5 months. It's making all sorts of noises that are screaming, "Get me some help, and soon!" I wouldn't have trusted the car on that trip without having the time to do its necessary maintenance beforehand. I can drive it long distances (this is how I get to track days), but if given the choice, I choose to keep the miles off of it.

Will it be at the same location? or is a East Coast 1 year and West Coast the other? Just asking...

I thought it was gonna be the same next year, but a yearly a switch could be cool

danewilson77
10-22-2011, 09:34 AM
There will be one on the East Coast...every year...as long as there is interest. They can do one on West Coast as well. No discussion has been had, regarding switching every other year.

It will probably always be on the east coast.

Because I have access to everything ZHPMafia.com, I know where our bread is buttered. The east coast represents very strongly on this site. It's the reason I have our server location in Washington, DC (instead of Los Angeles). I've rewarded our east coast brethren with a faster connection for being so active on our forum.

We probably have 70 or so San Diego members on this forum. Less than ten of them are active.

For whatever reason, I doubt that I could round up the same support here on the west coast as we have rounded up on the east coast.

Therefore, it will likely always be an east coast event, especially since the makeup of our forum will not change much now (because we're a closed forum).

Dennis, we West Coast people just need to a CC road trip together, or you can just fly out

Boss...do we still maintain several countries represented?

I know it's tougher for the west coast guys to make it to the east coast. But I just want to make sure that we have a successful event each year. Doing it on the east coast assures us that it will be.

Marcus-SanDiego

We have visitors from all over the world.

I have not checked lately to see how many countries are represented by members, though. US. Canada. England. Mexico. Russia. Lebanon. Those are just off the top of my head.
