So, I spoke with technical support this afternoon.

It turns out that we've been plagued by some maintenance issues this week. It's not on our end; instead, it's on Media Temple's end. Should be complete by Thursday.

However, I figured that, since I had tech support on the line, I should find out about optimizing our site, so that we have faster load times, etc.

I upgraded the server service so that we now have our own dedicated container. We're no longer going to be taxed by users who are sharing grid space with us. This should speed things up nicely. I paid for a year in advance, so we're good to go until next December. If the site grows nicely over the next year, it may make sense to upgrade again. For now, though, this should meet our needs.

For the record, it was not necessary to upgrade now. Our site was only using 10% of the available resources we have at our disposal. But I figured it made sense to just move over to our own container now. I like more reliable service and this will give us what we need.

Enjoy.

Haha. Marcus works perfectly. No Don necessary.

We are now officially on the new grid container.

You should notice faster load times immediately.

Thanks for your patience during the past week (although it wasn't us).

I do notice faster load times on my end.

Anyone else?

You are welcome, T.

Good. Even my iPad is loading quickly. I handle a lot of stuff from the iPad, so this is good news.

Glad to hear, az. The quicker load times will encourage you guys to come here more often. You'll trust that you won't be wasting time.

Good stuff.

No problem, DW. You noticing faster load times where you're at?

Yeah......it's rockin.

However,

I do not like the fact that I just named a thread......"Booyah", and now all I see is a damn google ad for strawberry's with whip creme. I thought these things were kinda supposed to be community related. Is it trying to say I need to go on a diet? Is it saying I'm not eating enough.

Those Google ads are pretty smart, DW. Might be trying to say something to ya! Only you know what it's trying to tell you, though.

I figure you'll be more willing to tell your friends about the site if it's reliable and fast. You'll also want to use the site, too. Besides, we can always use more friends around here.

So, it's been about a week. I think the move to the container was just what the doctor ordered. I have not experienced any slowdowns since moving over.

:) i guess the slow loading that I alone sometimes noticed will be gone now - Thanks, Marcus.

Wash, I was experiencing -- intermittently -- the same slowdowns you were getting.
