Thanks! I didn't go in with the idea, but as I was composing the image I noticed how the top and bottom of the roundel were blurred with the really shallow depth of field, and I thought it emphasized the spinning-propeller heritage of the logo. Might try to do a series of photos with that theme.

lilcdkey; I think that's my fav shot from the set. Straight-ahead and confined, keeps the eyes focused on the main subject. I like how the line of the overhang roof parallels the profile of the car.

By the way, I think we have almost exactly the same car.. aside from a few mods on your end, and probably a lot more miles on mine (143K!). I recently debadged and am very happy with it. Need to paint or replace the front bumper markers, looks so much better in black.

Mine are jet black painted reflectors with Khoalty. I'm not completely happy with them though. They don't seem 100% perfect and I'm very particular. I'm not very happy with any of Khoalty's products actually.. Yeah I have exactly 49,300 mi now.

Thanks! You're actually pretty close to what was in my head. I was thinking the car is like a well-trained Doberman. Sleek, muscular, aggressive, black, and intensely loyal. Standing strong, silent watch by the door, waiting for his owner to emerge. What's going on behind the door?

I almost gave up on the panorama; I had snapped only three images quickly and it was a hell of a time getting them to stitch properly. Should have used 5 or 7 shots. There's still some distortion on the left that I just had to live with.

I shot it about +3. In post I de-saturated, made a duplicate layer, set to Overlay and ran HPF for the detail. Cleaned up some of the white areas and that was it. Somehow I managed to get a "compressed" feel, a least when I look at it. I wish I knew how to create that all the time.

Oh.... it was a greyish asphalt road, and there's a reflection of the road in the bumper. Maybe that's the graininess you're talking about?

Sure, I actually have multi sets of caps. Currently runnin the stocker Black/Gold. Was just about to order a new set because somehow one of my caps went missing :(

haha not making any sense. I have 4 and they are 70mm by 64mm. That should be exactly like what you have and mine have the cap back style "C" as shown in the link on my other post.

That's cool if you want to buy your own. I don't care. These ones came off the car, as I got over my "splash of red" phase I was going through. So if you want em let me know and i'll let you have em for a steal. Otherwise, they are on that site, one for that price, ie: you have to put four in your cart.

When its clean, I find black a hard color to top. Sporty yet elegant. That said, I'd gladly go for a red, white, blue gray, whatever color ZHP. I like em all. I had to valet mine at dinner yesterday, but while waiting to pick her up, all I could think of when she turned the corner was "Damn, that is a fine looking automobile."

They are def easy on the eyes. When you are comfortable with it....have someone else drive it, and sit in the back seat. It gave me a greater appreciation, for how my passengers view the car....

I resemble that! The color swap was actually done with a macro in the camera, you capture the new color then tell it what color to swap.

you got it. Foggy city. The following day the car was parked outside and it was wet the next morning. Now its dirty again. I love the BMW factory black grilles. Shame my car is black sappphire and it makes my car look a little more faded than it really is.

I'm thinking about deleting my foglights and getting true brake ducts installed.

I've been really thinking about getting a Arqray Style lip, a polyurethane version would be nice.
Any idea who carries them in non-carbon?

Edit: Found it in fiberglass but it was only $100 cheaper, for that price Id rather just get the carbon if no one makes it in polyurethane.

Gotta figure out spacers after I order tires, think in going with a bit "meatier" front tire so I don't want to jump the gun. Looking at either bfgoodrich g-force kdw or Bridgestone re-11

I think some folks here have gone with the same tire size front and rear. Perhaps they can comment here.

Most run smaller on the back, but only a couple are running a 235 or 245 up front I believe

Thx for the compliments! At 6'4" I take up pretty much all available room in it. The wheel spacers (10mmF, 12.5mmR) really help with the stance.Here's one more:
