Replaced front passenger side turn signal bulb today...and found the post on the bottom of the bulb was "eaten" away. On the bottom, the darker grey patches in the center are supposed to be all one color (grey/silver).

It reminds me of using a sacrificial anode (e.g. zinc) in water chemistry applications.

I'm guessing it wasn't making a good connection?

Maybe I should consider using some light bulb (di-electric) grease.

I have the same problem. I asked BMW about it and they said it wasn't a BMW bulb and that's why. Yeah, I dunno about that.

I use the grease now. So far so good. But I got the bulbs at BMW this time too.

I've replaced the front driver's side turn signal twice in the last two months. I guess thats what I get for using stealthauto bulbs.
