Nice. How's the condition of the finish? Standard discoloration/peeling with age present?

I've got a tan interior... I'm just asking for others. I'm not to the point where I can do an interior swap.

Recommend that you consider getting new cupholders - springs and retractable bits get "sticky" with age and spills.

no discoloration, has small scratches from normal use by PO, not bad at all
this tray, is completely original has not been plastidipped (i bought it used from someone on e46f and i never used it),
i will take better pics tonight
it just sits in my room, i thought someone could put it to use

thank you bill :)
my cup holders have held up, no stickiness yet, i cleaned mine not too long ago
also if you ever do the interior swap to tan and black send me pics because i love that combination

Looks like it's in excellent condition. If I wasn't getting the CSL center console for my M3 I would have jumped on this....glws This will be a good pickup for anyone who wants the Euro tray :thumbsup

CSL is CF, no armrest and the window control is moved there since the doors in that car are CF and don't even have the airbags in them anymore

wow i do like it :D
it looks amazingly sleek (only for coupes i assume)
i assume you would be running a CF trim to match?
if you dont mind me asking, how much one of these on average goes for?

The one in the pic is $450, steering wheel with the LEDs is $1400. The interior door trim is around $1600 for the doors and backseats (coupe)

I like it but I'm with you OP, as I need my cupholders too. GLWS.

Very interested. Do you think the short eurotray would fit with the change part taken out and one cupholder rigged in?

The project i want is from front to rear like this: cupholder, short eurotray, arm rest. I want to rig a wireless charging dock in the eurotray and will be fabbing it up. physically is there enough room without modifying the bottom tray to fit the short eurotray and 1 cupholder?

There is def gonna be some fab work to do that, with how it clips in and I think the trays aren't exactly perfect rectangles but shaped to fit the console. Might not even be enough room total... you would probably have to make something completely from scratch

ok, some quick photos to show you what I mean. Do you see how it angles up towards the back armrest area (front cupholder is in line with really long piece at end of coin tray). You could custom make a tray in the back that would be REAALLLY big, but it would have to be custom.

hmm wow that would be a bit of fabrication but if done correctly it could have an amazing effect on the interior
so it would be euro tray then, cut the cup holder in a way (with the small slope so that it fits snuggly?

That's exactly what i want to do. keep the front cupholder shape, the rear euro tray shape (if possible) no coin tray, and hope it fits. So what i would love is if the OP would take out eurotray and put it in the slot with cupholder next to it so i could see spacing. If it fits, i want dibs please.

so what would you like?
the euro tray installed, with the cupholder sitting next to it?
the small euro tray and oem cup holder are the same length

i would need half the cup holder so only can hold one cup and the euro tray behind it.

but ya, just how you posted it.

I think he means cut the second cupholder off and put start the euro tray from that point. I think you'll still need to do a lot of fab work to get it to fit right. You might want to figure out how youre gonna get the euro tray in first before you start cutting up your cupholders

My cupholders are already scratched to hell, it'll be a nice project to keep me busy. Time to buy a dremel :)

ok i couldnt get pictures today
but the only thing i see that needs done is

http://www.m3forum.net/gallery/data/522/medium/DSC03185.jpg

measuring the back angle to cut both sides of the euro tray
then once in place measure the space left then cut the cup holder accordingly (more or less in half)

since there is no tilt in the console as a whole and all sides are the same height, it should work perfectly
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c288/jhermes/IMG_1281.jpg

just cutting cup holder and angle on euro tray

EDIT: also cut a small angle on the other side of the 1 cup holder to fit in with the front of the euro tray
it is a relatively small angle

I think another issue you'll have is getting the attachment points to line up so that it will snap into place. I was hoping to be able to cut up the cup holders and make one of them fit INSIDE the Euro tray but it doesn't look like there's enough room so I've just been using the Euro tray to hold a can of soda. Works pretty good actually.

BTW, I paid $28.62 for a new one here......
