I heard Ensenada to SD/OC county line and east to Yuma

Marcus-SanDiego
09-08-2011, 03:41 PM
Yep. Part of south orange county reportedly affected. El centro and calexico also impacted. Not surprising since, as you mentioned, jp, that many in Yuma, Arizona, without power.

Hopefully power will be restored before kickoff tonight.

Apparently it's cascaded fom a 500,000 volt transmission line from AZ. Apparently a second one coming from the north also went out

I knew stage 3 rolling blackouts would come back! Everyone said it was a conspiracy but I believed they were coming back.

Power being restored from north to south and east to west. Chula vista sucks. Hopefully we get restored over night. Some 18,000 OC homes have been restored.

Exactly. I'm hoping my lens gets delivered tomorrow.

This actually turned out to be a good day. We hung out with friends until about an hour ago. It served as a reminder that we need to do it mote often.

Still no lights in any direction. Nothing to do, but sit back and drink a cold one. :)

I wish there's was someway to take a pic of the view from up here. It's pretty amazing. Nothing but Car headlamps for miles.

Hopefully power is back to normal soon. I found out about this due to customers calling me due to their cell phones not working. The power outage affected cell sites as well.

So..the entire cause was because a maintenance tech in AZ disconnected a piece of monitoring gear? Damn.....that guy hopefully is looking for a new job...

That's what i'm afraid of. If some type of war happen to wipe out power. Most people (at least in cali) would have no idea how to survive. Imagine not just a day power outage. A week, a month, etc. Sad how we are so dependent in electricity.

I had power from my vagabond power pack that I use for location shooting to fire my lights. I had enough power to piss people off, but not enough to be effective.

Winning! I think we should do that once a week. Everybody was outside, talking, getting to know the neighbors etc. I watched from my hill as SD lit up, grid by grid, and as it did, there was cheering and fireworks... It was great :)

Pretty funny as I had not been in a city without power since Iraq.
