What's a clutch kit? Pedal stop or clutch plates and all that jazz?

I've seen that name on here I think, screen name available here or should I just call and ask for Mikey?

I am anxiously awaiting his diagnosis, its friday he said, my clutch is going out with the normal grab and slip, and weird noises, I've had both kind of clutch issues in different cars. ;-)

www.rockauto.com

They have the Sachs OEM clutch kit for 258 + shipping. This is where I got mine and I am perfectly happy with it.

This is what AutohausAZ offers. Not better.

Search for part number: 21207531556 AutohausAZ (ZHPMafia.com affiliate link) (http://www.dpbolvw.net/click-4193730-10701773)

ECS - Not Better

Bavauto - Not Better

Bimmerspecialist - Not Better.

That Rockauto link is solid. They have a ton of options.

Not seeing a 6 speed Sachs kit at Rockauto. 5 speed is different.

$277.20 for OEM here.....(p/n 21207531556)......http://www.bmwmercedesparts.com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=215771

Tischer wants $336.00 for it.

Are you positive 6 speed is different? Even RealOEM only shows a difference for SMG transmission, not different for 5/6 speed though...?

I believe the input shaft splines on the transmission are different from 5 to 6 speed. Which means the disc would have different splines. Try comparing an 02 330 (5 speed) to an 04-06 330 (6 speed) on Realoem.

I about replied to tell you that rockauto DOES have 5 speed and 6 speed clutch kits, but then realized you said there was no SACHs kit, which is a shame.

Barry, do you have a part number? I did a search with your link but no luck for transmission parts, but I could do a part number search.

The clutch should be a 21207531556. Use the Realoem link to find part numbers....

If or when I do my clutch I will have to decide if I want to do the rear main seal, maybe some shifter linkage wear pieces, trans mounts, guibo, center support bearing etc. Where do you draw the line? :-)

Rear main seal I would say is a must. You have to pull the trans anyways to get at it, and why not go ahead and do it instead of later pulling the trans JUST to do the rear main? Shift linkage may be a good thing to go ahead and do as well only because with the trans out of the way, clearance will be much better. The rest can be done with the trans on the car so if it is not a must-do right now, I'd leave them out, unless you have the money to get those while you're at it.
