Hey guys,
I'm completely Photoshop illiterate so I figured I'd ask one of you guys to do it for me.
Here's two pics of az3579's car (hope you don't mind, az)

Can someone Photoshop the car to TiAg? I dropped my wheels off today to get repainted and I need to pick a color. Just wanted to see how the rim color would work if the car was TiAg.

Thanks in advance.

I'm tellin' ya, the wheels would look SICK on your car.

That PShop job is really good too, almost passable as real.

Just called the shop and had them hold off on painting the wheels. I'll be in there tomorrow morning with this pic.

What do you guys think? I like it.

Thanks for doing this for me Tampa, you're the man!

You know what I think? I think someone must have jacked the M stickers off my wheels before I even got the car. All yours have them, all 4 of mine have a little indentation with nothing in it :(

Thats a pretty subtle change on a TiAg car. I think I would be in favor of going one shade darker.....

Lol. The black knight! Dane - is that the price for 1 sticker? If so they're way cheaper on ebay (see BMW M stickers here (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574947307&toolid=10001&campid=5336776893&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Febaymotors%2F10-BMW-M-tec-sport-wheel-badge-m3-m5-m6-emblem-sticker-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2eb1ecf89eQQitemZ20055 3592990QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccesso ries)). 9 bucks for 10 stickers. Have a spare set and then some.

Really? I thought the gunmetal was right in the zone for darkness. Anything darker might look more black than grey.

I think the gunmetal will flow nice once I get clear corners and tint

ok, someone has to help me here. Can i do this to my beyern wheels? they have major rash on one rear wheel, but they also have the mirror dish. I dont like the reflectiveness of the wheels, or the way they are so close to chrome (they are not chrome) but if they could be gunmetal grey, on my car, would look badass. I love the deep dish rears, just want them grey. Someone please advise. Is this something that people can do?

Sure, mine are at the shop now waiting for my color choice. Two of the four had some significant rash on them. Find a good body shop and they should be able to do it for you. For reference, I'm being charged $100 per wheel.

is it powder coating that they are doing? they grind and polish the rash, then powdercoat? is that the deal?

Much appreciated, pal.

I believe they sand them down, fill in damaged areas with Bondo, and then paint them. You can get them powder coated too if you like, I'm getting them painted

wow. ok. im a rookie at this, but damn my rims would look sweet in gunmetal. Let me know once yours are done what you think.

az3579
12-17-2010, 08:21 PM
That pic of the 135M wheel painted (rim by itself with no tire) is more or less exactly the color mines are in real life. My pictures make it seem a very tad lighter than they really are, mostly likely because my camera isn't an SLR.
Personally, I do not see the need to go darker than that. I wanted mine right in between gunmetal and silver, and I think I hit the nail on the head with the color, though opinions differ on just what the "right" shade truly is.

They said the picture wasn't clear enough for them to do a match on, instead we went through books of paint chips looking for something similar. Ended up going with some variant of Mazda paint, it looked pretty close. I forget the name though. I hope it turns out good, I'm a little nervous haha

I tried printing it out on some photo paper, but my printer sucks so it didn't come out so clear. I was a little thrown off when he said I needed to pick a color that's already available on a car, rather than trying to mix something custom. I hope it comes out nice
