And nice to see the link to ZHPMafia.com (which comes from Wikipedia) in the guy's ad.

that price...holy cow. i paid 18k for a ZHP coupe w/ 50k miles, same situation (not the PO's daily driver, always garage kept, etc.) i realize i probably overpaid slightly, but i wanted the car and it was local and i didn't want to deal with shipping or driving across country.

if the maintenance history is there this car is an absolute steal.

What is the process for purchasing from a private owner on ebay? (title transfer method of payment) not familiar.

I bought a R1 years ago on eBay for $8,500. I wire transfered the money to his bank, arranged for shipping then he dropped it off to be shipped. He mailed the title and keys to me.

This guy says Money Order, Cashiers Check, Paypal or Cash in hand. Pickup locally or you arrange to have it shipped.
Anytime you buy a big ticket item on eBay sight unseen it's risky. I personally would request to have the car taken to a BMW dealership for a full inspection as I did with my ZHP. They charge around $150, well worth the money.

Thanks for the info.. still seems risky without flying there to check it out..

Yes indeed.

I bought my ZHP from Temecula Calif. I had my wife's dad go look at it and take it to BMW for the inspection. I felt comfortable with the purchase afterwards and love the car! That one would be sketchy for sure.

I agree, I flew out to Detroit just to make sure my car was everything the PO said it was. You really never know what is lurking under the hood or under the car. Even with a ppi you still taking a bit of a leap. However, that being said, most of the problems with these cars are repairable at a modest price, especially if you can handle a wrench. That looks like a good deal below 12,000. I paid 16,000 for my incredible orient blue zhp with 65,000 on the ticker.

I bet the owner did too! Not a bad price for Ebay. I don't think I'd have the guts to sell with no reserve like he did.

No reserve, that's crazy. I would want to have a bit more control over the sale than that.

+$4300 in last minute, awesome 05 ZHP if only my 401k would move that way.

But it's now showing the relisting as ended 20 minutes after the original auction. Strange. Maybe he accidentally hit the relist button.
