the first Head's Up Display app that I actually like. He makes other versions, the rest just seem to be overkill. (see his website if you want... http://atoll-ordenadores.com/)

I picked this one since it does the job I want and it alerts me to the location/distance to the next camera. Just like all of them its not gonna be perfectly accurate since the iPhone's GPS isn't perfect but its damn close. I like to use it as a reference so I know at least when I'm on streets so I'm not speeding obnoxiously. You can tweak it how you want, there are a bunch of different settings/views, I just like this one.

weird reflection due to the window/way the phone is laying - angle's are not the same, gonna need to find some other way to have it sit so no double reflection

the arrow at 328 degrees is my heading and the yellow thing at 19 degrees is the direction to the closes camera

Oh yeah, you need this. I have my phone sitting on this gel pad thing, otherwise it's gonna just keep sliding around.

Sweet!
UlysseSpeedometer is the poopy for Droid, and has an HUD as well.

I have no idea how I missed your post. I looked at it for a second, got confused by the picture and then moved right along. My brain makes no sense sometimes.

I found that app a while ago and never used it as there aren't speed cams in nc, or at least not where I live. The app is well made though and does seem to work well.

Am I correct in assuming that this app does not require a data connection ? If so then using an iPod touch or maybe my recently retired iPhone 3GS might work. Interesting post ... Thanks

I think you do need 3G for it to work, I haven't tried turning mine off. I don't know how it would figure out your location if you didn't have it on

I don't see why, if the knowledge of camera locations is available to the public, the makers of GPSs wouldn't have that information mapped right into the display (Like they do in Europe). Works like a charm too.

Charlie,

This is actually what I use that rubber pad for that I sent you. I do like this app a lot, I just need to figure out a better way to set it on my dash so I don have that weird reflection

JP,

I just downloaded this app....don't know if I will run this or Radaractive...

I do like that it alerts you to speed cameras....the GUI is awesome :like

and there are other ways to set it up, I just like the one I posted earlier since you don't want too much detail anyways when you're driving. Clean and easy to read is a big plus IMO

Charlie, if you want I might have another one of those rubber things somewhere in my house. LMK

JP,

The display is awesome! Especially at night using the red display. Goes with the rest of the interior...:thumbsup As for the other rubber thingy....thanks. I appreciate all that you have done so far :) I think I will order more for both the ///M and ZHP :thumbsup
