today i got a pair of headers and am installing them on the zhp , how much power would they give ? and would they give a nice voice?

Should net about 10-20 whp. Next step is a tune and/or some O2 sensor spacers to keep the CEL off.

Exhaust also?

Also get better intake + high flow throttle body

Headers open these cars up so much. I gained a ton of top end and ended up with 212rwhp on a "mustang dyno" with only headers and a full 3" back.

Has a High Flow Throttle body been shown to improve anything on our cars? I am hearing that the bore is negligible as are the gains.

I am saying this even though I am currently running the Dinan High Flow TB on my car right now, pulling air from a GruppeM intake

Probably hard to find info since I doubt anybody only installs that piece. In theory it should smooth the air flow, allowing the air density to be higher as it hits the intake manifold. To me it seems like a part that has to be matched with others so you increase the total gain in the system. That's why I said to pair it with the intake and headers

Changing the TB on a 330 won't do you much good. The head is the most restrictive part of the engine...I'd spend all of my money on having the head flowbench engineered for the most gains with your headers/cams/injector combo. Worry about the small stuff is like a rocking chair...you know the rest.

I've thought about the whole headers thing. I guess that most of you can tell how that ended up. The gains in horsepower are not worth a CEL light, and a smelly exhaust. Not to mention how much rasp these things give out, along with the amount of un-flattering noise that comes from the tail pipe.

All you need to combat the CEL is an Innovate LC-1 wideband o2 sensor. As for the smell...well you just need to make sure everything is sealed up tight and learn to deal with the performance gains ;)

Meh, to me.. it isn't worth it. I'll stick to just one day getting a solid cat-back. Or just hacking a resonator off... which I plan on doing as soon as I find a good shop to do it.

There's a Performance muffler for sale for $500 on bf.c!

I thought that we all came to the conclusion that the performance muffler doesn't really differ in sound or performance that much than the ZHP one?

Smaller and lighter weight. Different note and a few ponies at WOT. I'd run it with headers and no Front Muffler.

It doesn't help that the black soot on the back of the car from being Cat-less. Dirty HP is always cheap. I was planning to relocate the cats (though it is illegal to reposition them). at least i can pass the sniffer for emissions and feel like I won't die from the fumes/gases.

The fumes smell so good. Though I'm used to being around old camaros and all that.. and I love the smell of gas. But cat-less exhausts give me immediate headaches

those were my thoughts also. why the heck doesn't anyone make hi flow catted headers?

You have 6 inches from OEM to play around with.

Magnaflow makes a 49state legal one. Not cheap though.. Jon (Au2bahn) has it.

How much is the Magnaflow catted headers? They have to be cheaper than the Supersprint ones at Turner, those are over $4k!

Actually not really, if I recall correctly. Something like 2 or 3 thousands for each 3 pipe section.

I have the Magnaflow header and Magnaflow cat-back exhaust and I love them. Quiet at idle, deep sound when driving normally but WOT can be loud due to the S/C. A lot quicker response. I can definitely feel a difference but stand by for dyno results. Coming soon.

The headers are not $2k or more. Had it ceramic coated and well worth it

Is that California law, Federal law, or SCCA class rules?

Federal law "prevents" you from moving the catalytic converter from the OEM location.
