I have recently purchased a 2006 ZHP; 330Ci; BSM/Blk Leather; Premium and Cold Weather Pkg; 62K miles. There was a trim piece laying loose in the trunk and I cannot determine where it installs on the car. The local BMW dealer was not able to ID it either. So here is your challenge. See the attached pictures and help me ID the part. I should mention the shows signs of being broken on both ends. Part number 8 099 502 is molded into the part. Good luck!

Looks like the trim piece on the top of fold-down rear seats.

See number 14

I'm going to guess that it's part 14: Part number: 52 20 8 248 179 -- Edge protection right

I believe you nailed it! Thanks to all who responded.

BTW, where did you get the illustrated parts list?

www.realoem.com

Either enter last 7 from VIN, or go through screens to select your car by chassis, year, model, country, etc...and it will bring up drawings for car.

Wow, nailed it on the first post. I was stumped, but then again I do not have fold down rears, so I would not have had a point of reference.

Nice job all! I don't have fold down rears either so I wouldn't have had a clue. And, congrats on your recent purchase.

I use Realoem most of the time too but if you need to see a clearer diagram www.penskeparts.com is the better choice. Click on the "zoom" button on the upper right for nice clear images. Like this....
