Silver gray needs the OEM finish for proper contrast IMO

^^^I think pink goes well with the silver gray. And I'm serious too.

yeah I'd keep silver unless you go ALMOST black but not quite with some metallic flaking. Not Gunmetal, thats too light. You'd want like a charcoal or graphite color.

Or pink. :)

Burnt Orange, but I'm biased.

I would only say a different shade, that has too much purple/red for my taste. I have a pink tie (I'm a real man, I wear pink) that I gotta post it so you can see what shade I'm talking about. It would be amazing on some wheels IMO (for a girl at least)

I've been debating doing this for about 2 years now... I think I wanna get some new wheels and do it to them

yeah thats typically the color of wheels i usually go for on my cars. your car being silvergray it makes it harder to throw some contrast in there so I'd go as dark as u can without it actually being black and if you do black, do a semi gloss or satin finish, not gloss.

Bronze. Been thinking about it for my majestic blue...

not sure bronze and gray go that well... too neutral.

this is what I was talking about, pictures don't do it justice. It's like a neon pink in the sun

My brother who drives a subie 2.5gt wagon is getting some rota grids apparently and is pushing me hard to powdercoat my winters. We'll see though. I'll post up if anything happens.

heres a few suggestions.

Metallic Gunmetal w/ matte clear

Battleship Grey
http://boneheadperformance.com/wp-content/uploads/dark-gray-150x150.jpg

Black Textured

I changed my mind about liking the pink after thinking about it for a while... you're not a 13 yr old girl are you? Keep the bimmer classy, not ricey. It's a BMW, not a Civic.
If you want to go "Motorsport", do orange, I've always loved the Porsches I see with the GT3 orange wheels/accents.

This is called Flat Dormant Orange

Ooo, I like the orange.

Do the police really target cars that are modded w/ abnormal colors?? (serious question here)

PS: Hermes, that tie rocks!

UdubBadger

ehhhh probably in some areas but i doubt you can make it a "rule"

for 12 months my car was basically as modded as it could be without actually transforming it into a legit race car... I had all the bolt ons and it was LOUD. Not to mention I had my companies graphics vinyled all over it. I got pulled over once for my dumb fault, going 58 in a 45 right past a cop who lasered me. it's the only time I've ever even been looked at funny by a cop in this car, or my last BMW for that matter which was blacked out completely.

I was driving a buddy of mines E92 M3 a few weeks back, turned left on my arrow past a cop in his left turn lane, he immediately busted a U turn and followed me and pulled me over. I asked what the problem was (I was driving UNDER the speed limit) and he cited me for no front plate (luckily I got off since it wasn't my car).

Bottom line I think boneheads just tend to attract more attention than flashy colors on a car. it just might happen that more bonehead drivers have flashy colored cars is all. :dunno

not a bad idea though, don't associate yourself with them if you don't need to.

Yea here in NYC cops look for something to catch their eye and as the pull u over think of a reason. So rather just stay under the radar with a graphite or gunmetal

My buddy has gunmetal V710's on his black M3. I don't like the way it looks though, not just the spoke pattern but I think on a black car you should either go black, ALMOST black or contrasting color. The factory VMR gunmetal is too light.
