I am going to be doing FCAB and RTAB

The RTAB are going to be UUC, the question I have is with the FCAB.

I am debating if there is a real big difference between Heavy Duty or the Polyurethane.

I have stock on my car which are "NO BUENO" but wondering what the difference will be from those who have had them on their car.

I will add that I wont be Auto X-ing my car,as it is my DD. I do spirited driving every so often but nothing major.

I'm gonna move to maintenance....

I noticed a huge difference in road comfort between the Meyle HD and the UUC urethane bushings.

I went went with the Heavy Duty and like them a lot. I heard mixed things about the polys. Some think it yields too harsh a ride. Don't know for sure as I never used them but the HDs are good.

I went with OEM front bushings due to the car being my DD. The vehicle already feels every imperfection on the road and adding anything other than OEM would make the ride stiffer/harsher. It just depends on what end result you are after.

Sorry should have specified a little more.

I am lowered on H&R race kit. I am looking to upgrade for comfort. The suspensiom works great, really looking to stop the clanking noise from bushing being tore up. I have not ridden on polyurethane so I thought I would ask those who might have some knowledge.

They said pre-mature failure. I believe that can happen with anything...as a fluke though.

Does anyone know where to get FCAB tool to make the job easier.

I found a couple but $100 is a lot for a one time job for me.

The fcab tool for me is:

1. Twist cab until bushings breaks. Remove.

2. Use Drexel to make one cot in remaining material. Remove.

*do not nick control arm.

Meyle HD, I have been more than happy with them

FCAB wasnt too hard to take off, used a hammer and patience
RTAB were worse, went at it with a large drill bit, then a hammer, it took a little bit but they come out (I being economically conscious decided to remake the RTAB tool from wood, :( failed miserably wood didnt hold up)

another option is buy the $100 tool or rent them, from e46fan, or any other forum or site

^^ thanks I was thinking of doing it this way. The rear seem to be the biggest pain.

I found someone to take car of all this for me. He has the time and tools.

I had Meyle HD for FCAB and RTAB, with limiters. I really recommend this setup. Firm without being harsh.

I replaced the control arm at the same time as the FCAB. I rented a tool for the RTAB. Took me a little time to line the new bushing up and make sure it is well oiled, but it worked. Doing it without a tool would be a nightmare.
